Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

Traverse Friendly and did a fair deal. Blew away sands Chevrolet in surprise, went to sands prior to gateway and it was the worst experience I have ever had Friendly and did a fair deal. They tried to completely take advantage of us while telling us this was an incredible deal and when I asked Joel the Internet manager to explain a number we didn’t understand he got very angry and upset and said he could not understand why we didn’t understand his number when he did not explain anything. There’s absolutely no excuse for that we were very polite to him and I told him he made us feel like idiots and we were going to Gateway. We showed gateway the deal he presented and they laughed and said they were trying to rip us off and gave us a $4000 better deal on a brand new 2020 vehicle while Joel at sans was trying to sell us a 2019 with 3000 miles on it for $4000 more, And telling us it was his best deal and a great deal. I will steer everybody away from Sands Chevrolet in surprise, it’s the worst dealership I’ve ever seen and their service is terrible also. Really enjoyed our experience at Gateway More

Ok service Salesman was good at showing me cars, but when we started to head inside to talk about payments another guy showed up that didn't show me around. He didn't know what i was looking for just said you will need to get a Malibu or equinox (when i was looking for a truck). And the wait was terrible was at the dealership literally almost 6 hours!
