Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

We paid for a diagnostic and was told the fix would cost $500. Paide that and the engine light came on the same day. Take it back the next day and now it's something else for $2700. They did the same crap w $500. Paide that and the engine light came on the same day. Take it back the next day and now it's something else for $2700. They did the same crap when I took my Camaro in April. I paid two separate repairs because the first $600 didn't fix the noise then paid another $600. We have been taking our vehicles here for years and the service is just not what it use to be. Now we are getting a second quote for the work to be done. Gateway didn't even offer to credit the $500 for the repair that didn't fix it. More

Got and oil change I got a scheduled oil change. Took the vehicle quickly and presto chango after about 50 minutes it was done. Parking lot was being re-paved so no a I got a scheduled oil change. I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle on May 10. I worked with Jeremy Baker through the internet department. When I arrived he was waiting and had the car ready for a test drive. he was professional a worked with Jeremy Baker through the internet department. During this time the car was being washed and waxed so by the time the paperwork was done the car was ready to go. I had a good experience. The only issue I’ve had since then was being able to contact the finance department. I called and left a message that was never returned. I had to go in twice as the paper plates I was given expired much sooner than MVD had on their system and I had to wait until the paper plate expired before they could issue me an extension. This could have saved me a trip had I been able to speak to someone beforehand. The person I dealt with was not very friendly. In the end, Lorenzo in finance was able to help me. He was friendly and quickly printed out a new paper plate for me. More
