Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

What should have taken 2hours at most took more than 5 hours I think the way they go back and forth and keep you for hours and hours its all such a game that no one wants to go thru. In the end i was going to finance one third of this car with the dealership and they came out with payments and was reluctant to tell me the rate when asked. Finally they said 5.999 % and we have a really high credit score. When I complained of the rate he said “What rate do you think you should pay”..(totally unprofessional) and I replied not more than 4%. He then said ok we will give you 3.99 that’s when I said no, we will pay cash for the car as I was tired of all the games we were put thru all day long. It was a very frustrating experience. I love our Gmc cars but hate the GMC process. More

I lost my truck in an accident last year. I spent 6 months shopping for a new Nissan to replace my old one and was very picky. Could not find a deal to consider. One weekend I went in to check out Gate months shopping for a new Nissan to replace my old one and was very picky. Could not find a deal to consider. One weekend I went in to check out Gateway Cheverolet. Didn't realize it was the Presidents Day weekend sale. Mind you I was very picky. I was there to start checking Chevy dealerships. I ended up leaving in a new Silverado. The staff was so courteous and did not pressure me one bit to buy. They were also willing to make a deal. I would like give tremendous credit to DeQuinten Wood for driving away that day in a new truck. What an incredible and respectful young man. If you are looking for a vehicle this gentleman, and Gateway Cheverolet, will take care of you! Loving my new ride! More

The suburban had wayor engine problems . After two and a half weeks. Not ok with having to pay for a brand new viecle . With a damaged engine this soon.
