Joe Gambino, Sr has had a passion for cars since he was a young boy. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York he was afforded many opportunities, but none compared to his dreams of one day owning his own car dealership.
In 1956 Mr. Gambino and his wife moved to Phoenix, AZ and purchased Bobby Unser Chevrolet in 1983. The store was renamed Joe Gambino Chevrolet shortly thereafter. For years, Mr. Gambino lived the life he had always dreamed of and enjoyed the privilege of being the furthest Chevrolet dealer west in the country. People flocked from miles around to visit Joe Gambino Chevrolet because of their honest, up-front business model: We're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.At Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet, we believe a trusting relationship with our customers is the best way to run a business. We don't just want one-time customers; we want you to purchase vehicles from us for generations to come. We want you to become a part of the Gateway Chevrolet family, and believe, just as Joe Gambino, Sr did, that a family run business is the best type of business.
A lot of things have changed over the years, but two things remain the same. A family owned business with over 30 years of experience in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and greater Arizona area, and our philosophy: we're not completely satisfied until you're completely satisfied.
In 1997, Joe Gambino Chevrolet became Gateway Chevrolet and in January 2002, they moved from their old location on East Van Buren to a brand-new state of the art facility in the Avondale Automall located at 9901 W. Papago Freeway. The new location provided expanded service bays, comfortable customer areas and even more room for inventory; but most importantly, an ease of business that can only be translated into happy customers.Joe Gambino, Sr has a son Joseph (or Joe Jr.) Joe Jr's affinity for rare automobiles and to be just like his dad led him into the business at a young age. When Joe Jr was 23, he became a sales person at Gateway Chevrolet. His determination for success and perfection led him up through the ranks until 2010 when he became the General Manager of Gateway Chevrolet. Committed to selling cars at a great price and maintaining a positive relationship with the community, Joe Gambino, Jr. and Joe Gambino's Gateway Chevrolet have become a staple in the Phoenix and Greater Arizona area.

I brought my vehicle in for an oil change & tire rotation. I was told it would take about an hour and a half. I waited in the lounge for 3 hours and finally went to see what was taking so long. M rotation. I was told it would take about an hour and a half. I waited in the lounge for 3 hours and finally went to see what was taking so long. My service rep. was not in so I asked the other person in the cubical the status of my vehicle. He said it was being washed. I waited another hour until my service rep. came out to say my vehicle was ready. Not once during this time did they show the courtesy to come tell be why it was taking so long and when I picked up my vehicle they hadn't wiped the water spots off the windshield or vacuumed the inside. They never gave me an explanation of why it had taken so long. More

Horrible avoid at all costs! They sold us a crap Jeep. Jeremy Baker won’t respond when you have questions after he made the sale, unprofessional he emailed us to let us know there was a second key and we Jeremy Baker won’t respond when you have questions after he made the sale, unprofessional he emailed us to let us know there was a second key and we could go pick it up. We went and never got the second key no one ever knows what’s going on. Secondly the Jeep 2017 Compass4x4 sport, transmission went out with 37000 miles on it. They kept it for 3 months to “fix” finally fix it and it’s acting the same. And service the gentlemen John Sheldon is nice but the total outcome has been unpleasant and unprofessional. I will NEVER go back there again and anyone else looking for any car new or used just go anywhere but this dealership. I should have listen to the other reviews. More
