I took my Traverse in for a power steering issue. Had no other issues. When I got it back, the AC no longer worked, and the airbag system says it needs to be serviced. Gateway shop said AC was alread Had no other issues. When I got it back, the AC no longer worked, and the airbag system says it needs to be serviced. Gateway shop said AC was already broken when I left it and didn't even acknowledge the airbag complaint I had. They refused to accept responsibility for either. It's strange how they said the AC leaked out all the freon from the "damaged hose" they claimed to have found, yet the note the technician wrote clearly says "freon was RECOVERED from system", as in the freon was taken out. So, which one is it Gateway? Did the freon leak or was it recovered? It can't be both. How are you going to tell me my AC won't hold charge when you took freon out, which means my system had freon? The AC was never recharged otherwise the technician would have written that in his notes. The service manager was very adamant (in his own rude way) that everything that's performed on any vehicle is clearly documented. So according to the notes my freon was taken out, it did not leak out, and my AC was not recharged causing the AC to longer turn on. The notes did not mention anywhere that the airbag system had any problems and that's because neither of the systems had any issues. I paid over $2000 to have power steering pump replaced and 2 motor mounts replaced. The AC system was messed with without authorization. Freon taken out without authorization. Full blown leak search performed. Not once was I asked if I wanted my AC system checked just because the technician felt the AC was not performing to his standards. The air was cold. I didn't have any complaints about it, otherwise I would have mentioned this when I was asked if there was any other issues. Very hard to trust a shop that makes their money off people, especially women, that do not know about cars. You don't need to know about cars to know when someone or some place is trying to play you for an idiot and rip you off. Beware!!! Take pictures of your dashboard and record what you tell your service advisor. Make it very clear to them what exactly you want done and more importantly tell them very clearly you only want the issue you're taking car in for addressed, unless you want them to mess with your car and give you a list of repairs that add up to $6000 like they did to me. Some of those repairs being for damages they caused. Do not recommend you use this place ever! More
