High Pressure from Management Our salesman was great, he did a fine job and would recommend him. He was kind, patient, responsive, and answered all the questions I had about the vehicle and purchase of that vehicle. I did my homework ahead of time so I knew what I had wanted- but there was a lot of pressure to make a purchase that day and that type of sale doesn't work with my family. I offered to put a hold on the car in good faith - but they wouldn't refund the purchase if we decided to go somewhere else. I don't purchase enough cars to understand what can and can't be done. My wife's native language is NOT English and explaining a large purchase to her in her own language is really what I was asking for...they wanted to car off the lot in less than 24 hours. I also didn't see any community involvement and contributions to local charities and community organizations - which makes me question if they are a good neighbor at all. Outstanding service I have purchased vehicles from other dealers and I have to say that going to Gateway is a completely different experience. Zach the salesman we work I have purchased vehicles from other dealers and I have to say that going to Gateway is a completely different experience. Zach the salesman we worked with was helpful but not overbearing, We mentioned we had researched their stock online and had an Idea of what we wanted to look at already and went straight to checking them out. After several test drives between me and my wife and a day to think it over we picked up a used Highlander which by the way was priced well under fair market value which seems to be a trend when you look at vehicles on their website, KBB or Cargurus. The most remarkable thing happened after the purchase, we had a tow package included and needed it put on before our vacation at the end of the week, Zach found a place with the part in stock and even stopped at my house to pickup the vehicle and take it in to get installed. I have to say we were happy with just getting a great deal but the customer service is more than noteworthy. Did I mention they have an area for kids to hang out while you test drive or have your vehicle serviced, or that there's cookies, hot chocolate, cappuccino, coffee and bottled water to enjoy while you wait. Lies and avoidance I have never dealt with this kind of horrible customer service in my life. I brought my car in for my end of lease. They got me into a new Hyundai l I have never dealt with this kind of horrible customer service in my life. I brought my car in for my end of lease. They got me into a new Hyundai lease and told me that they would cover the rest of my payments on my current vehicle (the sales men I dealt with were wonderful though besides not informing me of how the payoff of the lease goes). Later they sent me a check and said they don't cover the payments I need to pay my final bill. I never received a bill. I was told I must have lost my bill. When I called Hyundai they said I owed $620 when Gateway only sent me $399 because they miscalculated the payments I had left. I went back and forth with Ryan and left voicemails because he was never available to talk and every time I finally got ahold of him he always said he never got my voicemails. Finally Ryan said they could not get me check for the rest of the money until I got them a bill with that amount. When I called Hyundai again to get a bill they told me that they have not sent out a bill because they wait 60 days to send it out and Gateway should know that. When I finally got my bill I emailed it to Ryan like I was told. I received no response. After waiting a few days I finally get ahold of him and he tells me he never got my email and then says oh wait I did and you will have a check cut for you to pick up on June 12th my bill was due 5 days after that. He said I would need to pay the money out of my own pocket so that my bill wasn't past due. I was not able to pick up the check on the 12th so I emailed him again to mail it to me. No response. After a week and half I called again to find out where my check was. I was told on June 21st that I was mailed to me on June 19th. I waited another week. Today I sent a request for the GM to call me because I was fed up with the lies and avoidance and dealing with Ryan. He never contacted me but forwarded it to Ryan. Ryan called me today and told me that my check was NEVER CUT AND NEVER MAILED! I constantly was lied to and avoided because every time I emailed or left a voicemail I was never contacted back. I will never deal with Gateway again and everyone I have talked to have said that they receive the same sort of customer service. I don't know how they can justify lying how many countless times. I was told twice my check was cut and ready and mailed when it never was. I had to pay money out of my own pocket that I could not afford to pay to pay a bill that I was never told I would have because they said "You don't need to worry about your final payments we have them covered" and I still don't have my money 2 1/2 weeks after paying the bill out of my own pocket. The GM couldn't even give me the courtesy to call me back when I requested a call and discuss this with me. More
