Background on reason for another vehicle: I had inherited my father's vehicle in 1999. It was a 1997 LHS Chrysler that I have driven for 13 years. This vehicle made many trips to Seymour,IN, as I was a manuf my father's vehicle in 1999. It was a 1997 LHS Chrysler that I have driven for 13 years. This vehicle made many trips to Seymour,IN, as I was a manufacturing engineer for Lexmark. We had a facility in Seymour which I supported.I have since retired. The vehicle was also used in many trips to South Bend, IN for ND football games. Unfortunately, the vehicle died Wednesday Dec 12th in our neighborhood. For this reason, we were forced into looking for another vehicle for the family. My wife's vehicle is an Isuzu Trooper. We had made a dceision to replace the LHS with such a vehicle as the Trooper when required. Troopers are no longer manufactured. We initially thought of Honda Pilot, Nissan Pathfinder, Ford Escape, possibly Jeep Cherokee. Placed into this situation we went to the internet and took a look. We found several vehicles and were intiially thinking of relative new, but used, low mileage. We looked at Pilots and Pathfinders on lots to ensure this was what we wanted to decide for the next vehicle. We narrowed to Pathfinder. We again checked the internet. We had been speaking with Ron Pennington. We then changed from a used Pathfinder to a Pathfinder that had not been titled but was a model year or two old. Fortunately, we found the 2011 Pathfinder that we have now purchased. I have since sent an email to the Gates Dealership that expresses out satisfaction with our purchasing experience. We feel our decision to purchase from the Gates Dealership will best serve our purposes due to the personnel we encountered. We established a dialogue with the Gates personnel and communicated openly. We did not play one dealership against another. We simply looked at the personnel we were dealing with and made a judgement on what was Best for our family. Since we were down to one vehicle, also had two ill grandchildren, we encountered some logistic difficulties. The Gates personnel made opportunities to us, we did not take advantage, but were impressed. We realized the Gates personnel above all were very genuine and committed to us as customers. Through the entire process from initial contact on the internet, to first phone call with Ron, first on site visit, second on site visit with test drive, to piuckup of vehicle, all queswtions were answered in an open manner. We took stps to meet all players from sales, service, finance. We made calls to all individuals in specific areas of expertise if required. In the end we were very pleased with the entire process from start to finish. More
