Great experience from start to finish. Scott took his time and let me drive each vehicle and showed me all the features. He didn't rush me into making a decision and worked with me with the price as bes time and let me drive each vehicle and showed me all the features. I came back a week later, because rates were lower and he was helpful again and wasn't pushy. He took his time and let me decide which vehicle I wanted. After purchasing my Sentra, he showed me every feature on the car and made sure that I understood how the features worked. He was very professional. Everyone at Gates Nissan has always been nice and willing to go the extra mile to help. More
What originally brought me to this dealer was a service repair on our 2002 Nissan Altima with 195,000 miles. That was when I first met Kathy Smith. Very friendly and truly seemed interested in helping me, not just processing me through the system. Our car was repaired quickly and very reasonably. I brought the car back again for a different issue and again the work was preformed while I waited and the price was great. The final time I brought the car in, (for a problem I created (spark plug stuck in head)) they were not able to repair it for what the car was worth. Kathy called twice during this time giving me information about the status. When she informed me the car was not repairable within the budget I had set, I asked if they had used cars. She said they did and she would introduce me to a salesman when I came in. Because of the way I was treated here the first two times, I had no problem shopping here for a car. When we came to look at cars , Kathy introduced us to Scott Witt. I was expecting the typical "lot lizard" sales tactics. What we got was a no pressure sales approach that I truly appreciated. I was also shopping at Glenn Nissan in Lexington and that was more of the approach I got there. For a week we looked at various cars, used and new at various dealers. We narrowed it down to a used Honda Accord (at a Honda dealer) and a used Altima SL at Gates. We came to the dealer on a Saturday to make the final decision when the wife spotted a peral 2013 Altima SV. We drove all the cars then went and talked to Scott Witt. We juggled the numbers and the pros and cons of used vs. new and decided on the new 2013. We worked our deal with Nick Simmons and Scott and I was quite happy to drive a new car with full warranty off the lot that day! So to anyone who truly reads this story: I can not stress enough how big an influence the treatment we received from Kathy Smith during our car repairs was on our decision to go with this dealer for a new car. She deserves a raise or a sales commission. :-) More

Scott was the only dealer that took the time to work with me. He got me the best price I could possibly get and I checked in four states. No dealership in Lexington would come close to the price I got from Gates. One dealership couldn't believe their price. They were very friendly and went out of their way to help me find the perfect car. I would recommend Scott Witt and Gates Nissan to anyone looking for a Nissan. This being my first "new" car buying experience I could not have asked for a better one. I started looking for a Nissan Juke and went to Gates Nissan in Richmond. Adam came out and asked how I was I could not have asked for a better one. I started looking for a Nissan Juke and went to Gates Nissan in Richmond. Adam came out and asked how I was and if I needed any help, he wasn't "pushy" or just trying to sell a car as most car salesmen get the reputation. He offered to grab the keys and go for a test drive and we did. Adam was very knowledgable about the car and all of its features from the Bluetooth technology to the drive modes of the Juke. After the test drive we sat down to talk numbers at which time my girlfriend and I were offered refreshments. The car was priced accurately, I was offered a fair price for my trade in and given the flexibility of multiple payment options. The paint and interior wasn't on the lot thst i wanted so I asked if Adam and the staff could locate my choice. (SV ,Gun metal with gray interior) Adam asked if he could get my cell, by doing so he was respectful of my work schedule and continually texted updates the entire time without disturbing my day with multiple phone calls, but everytime I called he was there to answer. Within two days they had located the vehicle along with a couple of options that I found online that I really wanted ( center armrest and spoiler) . They had the armrest installed and ready to go by Saturday, which is when I traded vehicles. The most impressive part of this all is Saturday I had some trouble with my trade in... It wouldn't start. I called Adam and let him know the situation. He assured me that it wasn't a problem, they had made a deal and would stick to it. So, Adam took his time from the dealership, drove across town and helped me push my car to WalMart to have it looked at. In his shirt and tie with dress shoes HELPED me PUSH my car across a parking lot. I didn't ask him or beg him he offered and insisted. A simple cable change on the battery and my car was fine. Drive over to the dealership dropped my car got all the papers signed and indeed the deal stayed the same! The entire experience was enjoyable, the rest of the staff was curtious and professional and I cannot express how helpful Adam was. I would recommend to anyone to buy a Nissan and I would recommend Gates Nissan in Richmond, Ky and ask for Adam. -Completely satisfied customer More
