I was in the market for the very hot Hyundai Veloster in an automatic with all the options and trimmings. Most of the dealers in my area offered me everything that I wanted with no practical means of deliv an automatic with all the options and trimmings. Most of the dealers in my area offered me everything that I wanted with no practical means of delivering on the promises. They all wanted me to purchase a vehicle that they didn't physically have to sell and they treated the sale as if they had just successfully participated in the Great Train Robbery by boasting that they could get $3000 to $5000 over MSRP. They said that they had to do that because the mark up was not enough from invoice. (If they can't make money at MSRP, perhaps they should re-evaluate their business model)? Now to the salient points: I searched cars.com and autotrader.com to find the vehicle I wanted located at Gates Hyundai in Kentucky. I called, spoke with salesman Drew, confirmed the product specifics and offered him MSRP to purchase right now. He put me on hold to discuss with sales manager Becky and returned after only a few moments to tell me that we had a deal. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I live in Florida and the dealership is 850 miles from my home so Drew drove to the nearest airport to pick me up on his day off to drive me the 34 miles to the dealership to close the deal. Business manager Jamie helped me complete the purchase in only a few minutes then I spent another hour just chatting with the employees because I was amazed how pleasant they all were! They made my purchase a win/win sale by not behaving with the condescending attitude that I encountered with most of the dealers in my local area. They were professional, courteous, pleasant and fair with their pricing. I didn't even feel like I was making a high value purchase but the best part was that I didn't have to take the standard "after car shopping shower" that we usually need to remove the car salesman BS fragrance left behind from the experience. These were all great people with great instincts. I would travel the 850 miles to buy my next car from them again. More

The treatment I received at Gates Hyundai makes me want to turn around and buy another car from them right now! My dad would say that they were 'raised right.' :D It has been YEARS since I purchased a car so I heavily researched online for months, dreading the ultimate Showdown at the dealership--I have such an aversion to whole negotiation part of it and the fake smiles and pretend interest that it took all of my power to contact a dealer. The staff at Gates Hyundai has changed my opinion of the car-buying experience and I recommend them at the highest possible level. I dealt primarily with Brian McMahan but also spoke with Jamie Reynolds and the GSM Mike Wallace and received such warm and friendly service from each of them. The group there not only got me a great price on a Hyundai Veloster that I am crazy in love with and low financing, but they delivered the car to me (I live about an hour away) with the paperwork to sign! I had been dreading the chore of finding someone to drive me or pick me up and the endless paperwork (that only involved a few minutes!). I felt truly catered to as a customer at Gates Hyundai--they made me feel as though I was the most important customer that day! I look forward to a long relationship with them and the line of Hyundai cars. It's impossible to beat the fantastic customer service and a 10-year warranty. Buy one today! :D Thank you all so much! After looking at many different cars I fell in love with the 2012 Elantra. I had my heart set on getting one. Called around to many different local Hyundai dealerships and NONE of them within a 100 mile radius had the 2 colors in stock (white or black) that I wanted. All it took was one call to Gates Hyundai and talking to Brian to sell me. I drove to Richmond after work and was greeted to a very low hassle free buying experience. (Something that is quite rare these days!) Brain and Jamie (the finance guy) really worked with me to get the payments down to fit my budget, without sacrificing all the goodies on the car! I have called Brian many times with questions and he has happily answered every time. I have recommended them to everyone I know, and stand by them. They definitely have a repeat customer out of me! If your in the market for a new Hyundai this is the place in Kentucky to come people! They will give you a competitive price for your trade, and the best part is the free car washes! I love my new Elantra! More
I am from Louisville and had been looking for a new Elantra since I graduated in May. I had put my name down on several lists at Louisville Hyundai dealers and even a deposit or two. I told them exactly what I wanted, either white or light blue exterior and tan leather interior. Well, after about a month of empty promises from them I decided I should try and look elsewhere. While looking on cars.com I found a light blue Elantra that I really wanted at Gates Hyundai. I called and spoke with Brian who told me it was recently sold but that he would continue to look around and give me a call if he found something. I assumed this was another broken promise like the Louisville dealers had given me. However, in a week or so Brian told me he found one! I did my credit application online and he e-mailed me the price break down of the car. Within the next few days I drove to Richmond and purchased my Elantra absolutely hassle free. I am recommending Gates Hyundai to all of my Louisville friends and am totally convinced Brian works miracles. Jamie, the finance manager, was also super friendly and helpful. He didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need and just laid out all of the facts in front of us. It is definitely worth the short drive to not have to deal with the Louisville dealers and to deal with a friendly, hardworking, car dealer. Thank you so much! More

Hands down the BEST and easiest car buying experience of my life. I've wasted the last 4 weeks with another dealer telling me lie after lie of when an Elantra would make it to his dealership. I gave him a security deposit, which didn't me...an anything to him because he sold "my" car yesterday to someone else. Contacted Becky today and she put a deal together within a 1/2 hour on the phone and is having my Elantra delivered to me tomorrow. We live in Northern KY and wouldn't make it down to Richmond until the weekend, but Becky wanted us to have our new car right away. I will recommend this dealership to EVERYONE I know More
I spoke with Brian, who was unbelievably helpful even before I got to the car lot. I had mentioned that I was in the market for an affordable 5-speed transmission car and within just a few hours he sent before I got to the car lot. Not only was he quite knowledgeable about the cars on the lot, but more importantly he is a fantastic businessman. I didn't feel hassled and felt quite at ease that Brian was doing everything he could to find the right car for me while assisting on my trade in--very trustworthy, friendly, and a pleasure to do business with! Brian called us and asked questions before we ever came in, and sent us pics of cars he thought we might like. When we arrived, he had the three cars we were most interested in set up in the same area of in, and sent us pics of cars he thought we might like. He helped us think through the pros and cons of the final two cars (newer with fewer features, versus "loaded" but older). In the office, he explained the cost and how to purchase an extended warranty. Finally, he and the finance manager made sure the interest rate on the loan was attractive and within our budget. We would recommend Brian to all our friends, in fact I put his name out to my Kentucky friends on Facebook next time they need a car. Separately, I was very impressed with Gates' website, made it very easy to see and compare cars. More

Brian helped explain to me how the hyundai Tucson compared with other cars and warranties available at other dealerships. He helped me compare safety, gas mileage, as well as customer ratings. Being a new graduate I was informed of how first time car buyers could earn cash off their purchase, as well as other incentives available. I was so grateful I went to Gates Hyundai, everyone was friendly and most importantly honest which is hard to come by in the car selling industry.
