I just purchased a new Hyundai Sonata from Gates Hyundai in Richmond, Ky. When I entered the dealership I was treated with upmost courtesy. Mike and Stewart are the best. The best auto purchase I have ever had, by far--and I have bought at least a dozen cars in my life. One offer, a very fair counteroffer and one trip to the dealer. That was it. The salesman wa have bought at least a dozen cars in my life. One offer, a very fair counteroffer and one trip to the dealer. That was it. The salesman was knowledgeable about the car and replied to my e-mails and texts promptly. He was never pushy. He treated me like a serious customer from the start, even though most of our communications were by e-mail and text and I live 2 hours from the dealership. The dealer experience was flawless. I had been working very long hours at work, and had decided if there was a single hitch, I'd just put it off for a couple months when work would be less busy. There wasn't. I was in and out of there in an hour and a half, which included a trade-in. The salesman offered a test drive and gave a quick, but thorough, review of the car after the purchase. He would have gone into much more depth about the vehicle if I wanted that, but I was ready to get home. In my past experiences, the finance guys are typically the shadiest, but not the one I dealt with at Gates. He was matter of fact about Gap, and the extended warranty. He was efficient and not pushy. None of the "DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH A COMPUTER MODULE WILL COST TO REPLACE ON THIS CAR?!!?!" or "WERE LOSING MONEY ON THIS CAR AS IT IS!!!" that I had to suffer with when I purchased my last car at the Toyota dealership in Frankfort. The salesman and I had agreed on a bottom line number, and the finance guy kept to that. There was a slight APR increase (1.9% Hyundai to 2.03% credit union), but it wasn't enough for me to sweat it. The finance guy explained something about fees and APR, but I decided the overall deal was fair enough. In the past, I've put off buying a new car for months because I was dreading having to deal with the haggling and hucksterism. My last purchase, at Toyota in Frankfort, was the worst ever. So even though my in-laws had bragged about Gates, I was skeptical that I'd be driving home in a new car that night. I'm no longer skeptical. Honest, fair, efficient with no drama. In summary, Gates treated me fairly, honestly, and like an adult, and I appreciate them. More

Bought a 2010 Ford Fusion from Gates. Byran was super to work with. After a couple of weeks had a problem with check engine light. Matt Gray checked it out, but determined best for a Ford dealer to work o work with. After a couple of weeks had a problem with check engine light.
