Brian threw in a tank of gas and a free oil change and the finance department set me up with a Powertrain warranty. Also, I was in a hurry due to some unforeseen circumstances. I discovered a pre-owned, low-mileage, excellent-condition 2004 Mitsubishi at an attractive price at the Gates Hyundai website. The original owner had ensured every oil change and 100% of maintenance had been performed on-time by the very same Mitsubishi dealership for over 80,000 miles. Moreover, I liked the upbeat online reviews of Gates a lot. While my residence is in Virginia, more than 500 miles from Gates' location, everything appeared upbeat about this car and I was willing to travel to eastern Kentucky to buy this car if it was a winner. Contacted Buddy Rue via online chat and then spoke with him in more detail about the car. I lined up a one-way car rental that I eventually dropped off 3 miles from the Gates dealership. Buddy shepherded every single key detail of the purchase every step of the way. Went with Buddy for a test drive of the car and everything checked out well. A touch of final detailing and a full tank of gas were great touches. Plus Gates helped me out with a suitable front license plate bracket/frame for the car, which is a Virginia requirement. Signing the paperwork that Jamie prepared was a breeze and I'll take care of the title/registration/plates in Virginia. The temporary Kentucky tags last 60 days, by the way. In summary, it was a superb buying experience. And I'd buy from them again. Gates gets my strongest recommendation. More

I first contacted Brian McMahan late on a Thursday evening through an internet form. He responded right away, even though it was 9:54 PM. Later that night I replied, and didn't expect a response until the next day. When I checked my email the next morning, I saw that he had responded at 2:45 AM. I was impressed. But I was even more impressed as we continued to correspond and he had some very good ideas. One was suggesting that they could easily adjust the steering sensitivity on the Sonata, since my wife had driven one and found the steering to require too much muscle. Sure enough, when we arrived for our test drive, the car was parked by the side of the dealership like Brian had said it would be, and the steering had been adjusted so it was very comfortable for my wife to drive. Because we couldn't give Brian a firm appointment time on the Saturday we visited the dealership, we happened to arrive when he was assisting another customer. But he had arranged to have another salesperson, Mark Sharp, show us the car. Both Mark and Brian took the time to answer all our questions. They were both very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. We made an offer on the used 2011 Sonata we originally test-drove, but we couldn't agree on a price. While we were negotiating, Mark and Brian treated us with respect, they did not pressure us, and they listened to us. We mentioned that we'd seen a brand new car advertised online at a different Hyundai dealership -- with a ridiculously low price. I didn't mention it to them, but we didn't like that car's color. I had also called that competing dealership, and they had admitted the car had recently been reduced because it had been sitting on their lot for several months. Evidently, other people didn't like it either. At that point, Mark introduced us to Stewart Haddix, the new car manager. Stewart immediately offered to try to match that price -- and to find the car in the color we wanted. Within a few minutes, he was able to locate a car with all the same features, in the exact color we wanted. And we got it for the same low price as the car with the unappealing color at the other dealership. They got us very attractive financing through Hyundai, and Jamie Reynolds (the finance manager) was also great to work with. We had expected to have to wait up to several days for our car to arrive, but they got it on Monday, and we picked it up that evening. It was gleaming when we arrived to pick it up, having been freshly washed. Mark Sharp and Mike Vescio answered all our questions about the car, and we also scheduled another appointment to go over the car in even greater detail. At that appointment, Brian McMahan went over the car from top to bottom, making sure we'd be able to enjoy all the features and benefits. Throughout the whole process, all the employees coordinated with each other seamlessly to give us great hospitality and service. We would definitely buy from them again, and we would recommend them to anyone. More

My Wife and I were looking for a new vehicle. I was very pleased with Mike and when it came time to fill out the paper work Jamie Reynolds was very helpful in explaining everything we were signing and when it came time to choose options for extended warranty he made sure we were able to get the one my wife and I wanted and explained its coverage and how it worked so we would not feel lost if we ever had to use the extended warranty. I cannot thank Mike Vescio and Jamie Reynolds enough they did an outstanding job helping my wife and I. I would recommend this dealership as well as Mike and Jamie to anyone who is looking for a new or used car, they make the whole process enjoyable!!! More

Brian thoroughly explained what all of the features where and how they worked. A very good car buying experience. I have already referred two people to Brian today. More
