The overall experience at Gates was fantastic. I went to 8 dealerships in 3 days and was getting pretty frustrated with all the hoops everyone tried to put me through - except at Gates! I couldn't be more satisfied! Many other dealerships said the numbers I was given over the phone at Gates were just tactics and that no one would give me that kind of deal. In fact, many dealerships wouldn't even give me a real bottom line unless I drove out in person. After putting 500 miles on my car in 3 days, I found that not only was Gates the best deal, but my sales rep Eric Gates had been honest with me the whole time over the phone and truly wanted my business. No games, no tactics, no BS! I would recommend everyone give Eric Gates a call if they want a dealership they can trust in! More

I just purchased my first car (2011 Altima) with Gates Nissan and had a great experience. I visited and spoke with a number of Nissan dealerships in CT before buying, and Gates was by far the most helpful Nissan and had a great experience. As a girl in my early twenties, a lot of salespeople (namely at Middletown Nissan - don't buy there!) tried to scam me into a crappy deal. Tomas was very forthcoming about fees and the deals he could and couldn't get me. I wound up with the exact car I wanted at a price I was very happy with and I felt like he did everything he could to get me the best possible deal. Both Tomas and Eric were really helpful showing me the different car features and answering my many, many questions. They were professional and really pleasant to talk to. We drove over 60 miles to buy the car there and it wound up being well worth it! I definitely recommend this dealership & the people I worked with. More
I went to Gates after my wife found a car online. She wanted to drive the car due to the different body style. My house hold has been mostly pick up trucks and suv's. Well we drove the vehicle and it looked good. So we started talking price. Well come to find out they take almost anything on trade. So now here is my truck, and I was going to use my Harley in addition. Now I was pumped full of the "Gates” experience stuff and was treated well until it came down to the numbers. I got what I was looking for with the truck, then the number for the bike....No good. So I thought the deal was dead. I was asked to put a deposit down to hold the vehicle since it was a trade and they have a policy to send the vehicle to auction after 60 days. We were at the end of the 60 days so I put $100 cash. Well like I said the numbers were not working out so I asked for my money back. Told me they couldn’t issue the "check" due to it being Saturday. Well I was going to go on Monday to get the money back but again was contacted that the "Computers" were acting up and they could not issue a $100 check. Wait...I gave them cash. Well my cell phone blew up on Tuesday.....they were able to work the numbers for the bike. Now the numbers looked good. Back in the game here. I talk to my wife and she is now getting excited at the prospect of the newer vehicle with two young boys and possibly a third on the way. Wednesday morning I'm at work call Denny and say were on...the deal is a go, and I will get the bike to him that night. The reason why so fast is about a package deal Denny put together for a wholesaler. So now I am on their time line. After much running around and arguments with the wife on how we are going to make this work, I leave work early, pick the bike up with title in my back pocket and ride to Gates. I walk in and Denny meets me with a smile and tells me it's great to see me....then he tells me he has bad news. The vehicle that I had a deposit on and was going back and forth with was sold to another dealership in PA. I was dumfounded. Denny quickly followed up with "I will honor the same deal for another vehicle. That he will have to find one for me and that may take some time. I just told him to get my money. Denny started to back peddle and again I had to tell him to get my money. I was appalled at the integrity of this dealership, there is none. I was told this was a one in a million. This is not my first rodeo here folks and in my experience when they make excesses like that they are just trying to point the finger at anyone but them. I was then told when I got rude.....because I was vary angry, "Well sir you walked out on the deal on Saturday, the deal was over" Now just to review, I walked out never got my money due to poor excesses, then Tuesday, the numbers came in, then Wednesday morning I agreed to the deal, remember they still have my money, then on Wednesday night they sold the car out from under me. So according to Denny, this is my fault? My wife arrives at the dealership expecting to pick me up, It took everything that I could do to keep her from storming the castle to give them a piece of her mind. I will NEVER go back to Gates, I will be attempting to contact Craig Gates the owner about this situation and the dissatisfaction that I have with my experience. Now it's not even about the car, its about the integrity and ethics of how things were done. I was brought up that a man's hand shake was good, I guess in today’s day of greed and money there is no honor amongst men. More

Just an overall great experience at Gates! Our salesman, Paul Mazza really went above and beyond to get me the car I wanted. My husband and I went in looking for a used Chevy Cobalt that I saw on the websit Paul Mazza really went above and beyond to get me the car I wanted. My husband and I went in looking for a used Chevy Cobalt that I saw on the website. It sold before we got there, so Paul drove us to their sister dealership, Premier Chevrolet in Booklyn to find another one. They had a 2007 Chevy Cobalt with only 47,000 miles on it and it was exactly what I wanted. He let me drive the car on the way back to Gates, so I got a really good test drive out of it. Since we went in on a Saturday, they couldn't get in touch with the bank to set up our financing, so we had to go back on Monday to finish the paperwork. But Paul said my trade-in was too dangerous to drive because it had bald tires and he didn't feel comfortable sending me home with it, so they hunted down a set of dealer plates to put on the cobalt and let me take it home for the weekend. My husband and I really appreciated Paul's concern for our safety and were so glad we got to take the car for the weekend. Paul made sure I was comfortable with the car before we took it home for good on Monday, and asked if there was anything he could show me how to use. Nick, the finance manager was wonderful to work with too. He really worked hard to make sure that our payments were within a comfortable range for us and he got us great rate! I also have to mention Joe Orgo, who was great to chat with. When we got there, Paul was with another customer, so Joe let us sit at his desk while we were waiting and helped us get started on the paperwork for my trade-in. I had such a great experience overall at Gates. Their customer service is fantastic and I couldn't have asked for a better deal on my new car! More

I had a great time today at Gates! I came in wanting to trade in my Civic for an XTerra and was welcomed with amazing customer service. The time flew by, and I was able to leave, same day, with my new Xter trade in my Civic for an XTerra and was welcomed with amazing customer service.
