I am very happy with the service I received from this dealership. I worked with Brian Philips. He was very helpful throughout the process. Bought new Altima. Brakes had issues, Service department would NOT honor warranty. Called Nissan to get Regional Manager was not contacted back, until I went to BBB, then I was told they wouldn't talk to m would NOT honor warranty. I will have to say that working with Paul Mazza and the finance personel was just fine. My experience with Brian Howe was completely unsatisfactory. He first agreed to give me 3 months no payments and a re finance personel was just fine. My experience with Brian Howe was completely unsatisfactory. He first agreed to give me 3 months no payments and a rental car for the time I would be without a vehicle. My husband is deployed and we must transfer to Hawaii. So we will be without a vehcile while our new one is shipped out. They also promised me it would be certified. Then at the end of the negoatiation we went over our agreement in the finance department. They did not put the certified portion down or the rental car or the three months no payments. He said "oh you wanted all that still"? Of course I have three children and am with out my husband for six months why wouldn't I need a vehcile while this new one is being shipped. The other problem he never returned my calls. I spent 5 1/2 hours at this dealership finalizing this deal and they did not have all their ducks in a row. I've never had this type of experience at a dealership. Further more I asked if the vehicle had been protected with the cloth protectant and it was they said they would ask the previous owner if they would transfer it and they never asked. I traded two vehicles in One vehicle was worth $14,000-$14,500 and due to a previous accident they only offered me $11,000. They said it was no longer worth $14,500. So I went to the insurance comapny who was at fault and they requested I get a letter from Gates to show that it had depriciated. They said it depricated only $1,000.00 now. So that only brings it to $12,000. So Gates Cheated me out of $2,000. I really should have received $13,500 for my trade in from them since they now say my car only depreciated by $1,000. So while my husband serves so Brian doesn't have to be drafted he can live with himself and be Scandalous. Again I was happy with Paul Mazza and the finance department, but the sales mangager representing this company is unsatisfactory to represent this company. If roles were reversed and his wife and children were in my shoes I think he would think a little harder about it and want the same that I am requesting. I would never again buy another vehicle from this company. I have purchased 6 vehicles from dealerships and I have never once had this happen to me. I have never been promised something and they try to cheat me out of our agreement. I consequently have a bad taste in my mouth from this experience and can't wait to see what happens when I go in to try to claim my rental car they promised me. Maybe the next customer will have a better experience, I only wish the best of luck. I've never once in mylife wrote negatively about a company, but I felt something needed to be said for this. More

I gave it this rating because I visited over 5 dealerships and found most were only interested in a quick sale or were shysters trying to rip you off . Some dealers actually used false advertisements to get you in and then renege on what there listing said. I was told by 2 salesmen at a Hartford dealership that the price was negotiable on a vehicle I looked at on their website. When I drove over 30 miles to get there was then told the price was NOT negotiable it was an internet only price, however the vehicle was sitting in there lot with the exact same price. After two days they decided to accept my offer, however, in that time I went to Gates (and was glade I did). As I said Gates was very personable and were interested not only in selling a car but also interested in my daughters safety making her happy and reasonable with us as consumers. JJ Lavieri even had 2 new tires put on this vehicle to demonstrate his sincerity towards my daughters safety and Denny worked out a very good price for us. It was truly our pleasure dealing with Gates. More
