I had a very positive experience with Gates GMC Nissan. As soon as I arrived the car I was interested in was ready and up front for me to look at. I was taken on an extensive tour of your dealorship and your vision of the dealorship in the future was brought to light. Paul was straight forward with no gimmicks and Ryan worked with me to get me the deal I was looking for. Nick did a nice job with the financing, providing me with a stress free and friendly experience. I would recommend Gates to anyone and will be a returning customer when the time comes. When I was in for regular service the sales person (Tomas) asked if I was satisfied with my present car. There were a few things I was not completely satisfied with. He recommended looking at the new totally redesigned Altima. After a careful look and a test drive I was convinced. We sat down and came up with a reasonable trade. The car was delivered on time and and in perfect condition. There is truth to the saying "Gates Gets IT". I would recommend this dealership to anyone. More
I went to the dealership because I was interested in a Nissan. I have been a Mitsubishi owner for over 10 years. Brian Phillips was the first responder when I drove into the dealership. He was smiling, upbeat, friendly and had above average customer service skills. I am a manager in a retail business and we are graded on customer service which is a quality I look for as a customer. Brian tried to meet my every needs and showed me several cars before we found the "love it" have to have it. Eric knowing him personally also assisted in my purchase. There was no pressure and I felt very comfortable with them. I have bought several new cars in my life. This felt like the easiest purchase I ever made. I even got my car the same day. I live in Putnam and I didn't have to come back another day to pick it up.Eric made it possible for my purchase which I thought would be out of my league. I am very happy with my purchase and absolutely LOVE my car which I haven't in a long time. Both Brian and Eric have great personalities and customer service that would be scored an excellent. I would highly recommend the dealership to my friends and family. I would also recommend they ask for Brian!!!! Thanks to both of them for making my driving enjoyable again. Gates gets it. That is there slogan, and they seem to deliver on it. I can't speak for others but I had a great experience at Gates Nissan. I found a car online that looked too good to be true for the price. Thankfully, it was true, and unbelievable. My situation complicated for I live in Texas. This car was of course in Connecticut where the dealership was. I inquired and immediately I got a very friendly response. As I told the dealership the buying process would be complicated, they went above and beyond to facilitate a sale for me even over a thousand miles away. I told them I would not buy a used car without looking at it. The plan for me was to risk buying a plane ticket to fly up there and look at the 370z I planned on buying. When I told the dealership this, and how serious I was. The dealer offered to reimburse my plane ticket upon purchase. Also if I needed to be picked up from the airport, they would send someone. I was stunned. As a generally careful person, I still thought it was too good to be true, but I took the risk anyway and went to Connecticut to view the car. I was very glad I made that decision. I thankfully had family in the are to pick me up, but when I got to the dealership they were very welcoming, and set the car aside for me. Brian Phillip was a very very nice and friendly car salesman. He let the car sell itself just like I like and really leveled with me. I communicated with him the entire time, and the process went smooth. After inspecting the car and deciding I was for sure going to buy it, they also did a great job facilitating that. Ryan Lapierre really helped make me feel comfortable with the buying process as it was my first time buying a car. So there you have it. They went above and beyond for me. I am very happy with my purchase, and can't believe everything went so well. The only complaint I have that I feel worth mentioning is that Eric Gates clearly doesn't care about customer service. He is the finance guy, and his dad owns the dealership. He isn't paid to be nice, he is paid to make money, and its his Dad's company, so he can pretty much do whatever he wants and will generally have that attitude. Overall I can't speak to his true character, I can say though in experience he wasn't exactly comforting but did his job. I hope one day he is more humbled and can conduct business better. I almost walked out at one point because of his dismissive elitist attitude. However, Ryan and Brian convinced me to stay and helped make things more comfortable. After Ryan intervened, things were back to super awesome, and well... I bought a car lol. So Thank you Gates team for making the experience awesome. More
I initially went to Gates based on word of mouth recommendations from friends and family... Specifically, I was looking for a Honda Ridgleline and Gates had a used one that fit my requirements to th recommendations from friends and family... Specifically, I was looking for a Honda Ridgleline and Gates had a used one that fit my requirements to the letter. I called in and set up an appointment with Brian Philips to check out the vehicle. He was there on time and took a huge chunk out of his day to answer all my questions, take me for test drives with the Ridgeline and a couple other vehicles, etc. He was very professional with a laid back style, not the typical "hard sell" I usually associate with dealers... I had appointments at two other dealerships over the next day and their sales staff members were professional but waaaay too pushy. I called Brian back with an offer and we went back and forth for a few, and settled on a fair price (right around KBB value)... I went in and met up with Brian to sign the paperwork the same day, then met with Nick (the finance specialist) to wrap things up. Nick was really easy to work with. The last time I purchased a vehicle at another dealership I really didn't like the finance end of things, really stressful and a lot of pressure to purchase ancillary products. Nick made the whole process really easy and wrapped everything up in a timely fashion. More
