I brought my car here because my key stopped working in the doors and then the ignition. They told me the key was shot, and I spent $300 on two new keys (my car is all-manual, so these were not keys with the doors and then the ignition. That didn’t resolve the issue, though, and within two weeks my brand-new keys were not working again. Then they told me that it was the cylinder of the lock itself, and offered to replace just the car door lock for $200, in which case I’d have two different keys needed to enter and operate the vehicle, or replace all the locks for $550, in which case they keys I just purchased would be useless. I expressed frustration that, if they’d just caught the actual problem from the beginning, I could’ve just taken the latter option, but instead, I was looking at paying the same amount for a janky dual-key system. I asked how much of the $300 I already spent, at their recommendation, would be credited to any additional work, and they said the they’d give me $70 off any additional work they did to resolve this issue. That is not an appreciable or even reasonable dent in the total $850 it would cost to get my car working properly again. I do not feel that this was a commercially reasonable response to my issue, and I do not feel that I got my money’s worth here. I do not recommend this establishment and I do not feel I was treated like family, as the motto suggested I would be. Update: I worked with the service department and got another full review of the issue with a different master technician and I ended up with a repair that put me in about the same position I’d have been in if the issue had been caught the first time I brought it in.
