My Kia EV6 got the dreaded ICCU failure. I took it in to have it diagnosed and the unit failed. I was given a rental the next day. From the day I took it in it was 4 days to get it fixed. However, after the test drive, another individual approached and began what felt like a pr respectful, courteous, and helpful throughout the process. However, after the test drive, another individual approached and began what felt like a prepared sales narrative about the car and its price. On their website, the vehicle was clearly listed with both financing/monthly payment options and a cash price advertised at $17,884. Despite this, the individual stated that the car was “way below Blue Book value” and, due to accessories, the “new price” was $22,000. I told him this felt deceptive, and he responded by acknowledging that he knew but that it was “the way they advertise,” adding that he didn’t like it either. Although I have purchased several cars in the past, I don’t always remember every negotiation tactic, and in hindsight I should have requested an itemized list of the accessories. I told him I would not pay more than $20,000, and we ultimately agreed to $20,885. Unfortunately, I later noticed they added over $1,000 in fees, bringing the negotiated price to approximately $21,000. Overall, the experience felt like a bait-and-switch, as the advertised cash price did not reflect the actual selling process. I hope the dealership improves transparency in its future advertising practices. More
