I had to visit this dealership after getting very cold assistance from my local MAZDA of Valley Stream. This place is the complete opposite. From the moment you walk in the door you and your business are assistance from my local MAZDA of Valley Stream. This place is the complete opposite. From the moment you walk in the door you and your business are treated like it’s appreciated. Needing a very minor and inexpensive part I was warmly treated by Josuah, a sales consultant who went out of his way to show me where I needed to go to find the parts department. Reginald and especially Moises Mendoza were extremely helpful and like I said I purchased a very inexpensive part but Moises gave me his card and said just call him whenever I need assistance. Jahnette from the cashier was very kind and friendly. I had to find the source behind the positive energy in this place and was warmly greeted by the General Manager Jack DePalo and like the saying goes Attitude is a reflection of Leadership, it was no surprise why this was the case. This location will by no surprise be my home for parts, service and me and my children’s next new car purchases. More
My wife and I found a Certified Pre-owned (CPO) 2017 Mazda CX-5 Grand Select on the Garden City Mazda website for $23,000 w/ 35,552 miles. I set an appointment and left a deposit. We arrive and it has m Mazda CX-5 Grand Select on the Garden City Mazda website for $23,000 w/ 35,552 miles. I set an appointment and left a deposit. We arrive and it has more corrosion than I would have imagined & the leather seats in the front had tears. We drove the car and it actually had nearly 40,000 miles. We sit down to talk money and that was the first red flag. The car isn’t $23,000 as listed, that’s after you pay $1995. And you also have to pay a $995 “prep fee”. I told our sales person that I didn't like doing business that way and to just be straight with me. Another guy from came over. We were trading in a leased 2021 Honda HR-V Sport AWD, with 16,000 miles and with the exact specs currently (October 2022) is listed in various dealerships online between $28 and $31k. We only owed $20,000 to pay off the lease so we had positive equity. He tells me they can give us $1250 from the the trade-in and the buyout is over $23,500. (Which I know isn’t true because the dealership has a sister Honda dealership meaning they can buy this lease at the same amount we can from Honda Financial) I tell him that the car is worth as high as $30,000 right now. He gives a long explanation about the market and there’s no way the car can sell for that. I literally have 3 pages printed showing this car listed at $30k. I call Smith Haven Mazda who advertises no hidden fees and we get ready to leave. Kimberly says we need to go the the GM's office (Jack) to get my deposit returned. We sit down and he asks why we are unhappy. I tell him everything and that we are going to look at a newer CX-5 at Smith Haven listed for $26k with 24,559 miles even though it’s a lower trim level. He says he understands and asks what can he do to keep our business and gives us $2,000 for the trade in, takes off the $995 prep fee, and he says find a 2019 Grand Touring we like. We get the price down, but we wanted $500 more off and he says he can’t go any lower, but would give us 2 extra years of free oil changes and we agree. We end up with a 2019 CX-5 Grand Touring with 22,930 miles. We feel good about this. Jack seems to be really trying to make things right and trying to get this car as close to the price of the competitor’s as possible. We shake hands and start the buying process. The finance guy tries REALLY hard to get us to buy extended warranties since the car has no warranty left, since it had been more than 36 months since the car was originally sold. He even checked the AutoCheck car report to verify there was no warranty. The first extended warranty pushes our monthly up $56 a month. We mention that an extra $4,032 isn’t something we feel good about. He says “$4,000? That seems high, I don’t think that’s right.” I do the math on my iPhone calculator 56 x 72 = 4032. He still says “that doesn’t seem right with this interest rate”. Like dude aren’t you suppose to be the finance guy? Why am I doing math for you? We say no. He then says with a condescending tone “well what are you going to do when it needs service?” I tell him I’ve never owned a vehicle with less than 130,000 miles and half the time I made the repairs myself. He then says “that must have been older stuff because these things have computers and it’s all built in and can cost thousands of dollars”. We say no again. At 8:30pm we finally leave in our CPO 2019 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring. We’re driving down the road and we see that the car doesn't have 22,930 miles, but 24,964 miles. Which just leaves a bad taste in our mouths. Then today I learn ALL MAZDA’S COME WITH A 60 MONTH 60,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. This guy NEVER said a word about this. Neither did Jack, Kimberly or the other jerk who's name I can’t remember. We saw nothing about this anywhere in the dealership or on the service department tour. I do not trust them to service our vehicle even if it’s free, and I don't plan on taking it there. I don’t like being lied to. I would avoid this place. More
I brought my car in for a quick check up before a long trip. Ahmed and the service manager Juan treated me very nicely and accommodated me even though I had not made an appointment prior. During the inspe trip. Ahmed and the service manager Juan treated me very nicely and accommodated me even though I had not made an appointment prior. During the inspection it was determined that the tensioner device was leaking which might have caused the belts to either slip or outright fail altogether. Ahmed and the mechanic were able to find the part and fix it same day. More
Please shop somewhere else because the staff is very unprofessional. They will make you feel like trash if for any reason your application is rejected, as well as good luck talking to any manager becaus unprofessional. Not happy at all with my experience trying to lease a car here. I say "trying," because I finally gave up and am working with another dealer now. It started right from the initial appointment to test-drive here. I say "trying," because I finally gave up and am working with another dealer now. It started right from the initial appointment to test-drive a car. I emailed with someone from the dealership ahead of time to schedule an appointment. And I confirmed with them that they did in fact have the exact model and trim for the car that i was looking for (I even included the VIN & Stock #s from their website). And I was assured that it was available. And yet when I got there, they only had a bare bones trim, and not the one I requested. So I wasn't able to get as accurate a feel for the car, without being able to use the power seat adjustment, or any other features. Since I leased my current car at Garden City 3 years ago, I was trying to be loyal and use them again. Last time I worked with them, I was sitting at the dealership for hours, even after a price had been agreed on. I didn't want to deal with that again (because really...who has that much time to sit around a dealership??). Definitely not the most efficient use of time. So I emailed the salesperson and sales manager I had met with for my test drive, and sent a list of questions to price out the vehicle I was interested in. Received a dismissive, obnoxious voicemail from the salesperson that basically said that they won't give out any info outside of the dealership, and if I want I can go ahead and shop around elsewhere and then come back to them to see if they can match the best price I got. Considering the subject line for my email was "Interested in moving forward" I would have thought he would take things more seriously, and actually engage with me. Every time I communicated with them, I did it via email, since that is my preferred method of communication. In my last email I even asked specifically that they respond via email. But they never once emailed me back - only called or texted. I explained to them that I'm a visual person, and need to see the figures in front of me, and have time to review the information, before I can make a decision. And I don't want to feel rushed/pressured trying to do that while sitting in the dealership, which is why I wanted to get the numbers all finalized before I came in. But they just refused to work with me. So then I tried the Express Store option listed on their website, which promised that you can in fact handle the entire transaction from home, including getting the fee information provided to you. I completed the entire application, uploaded my info, and ......nothing. The only response I received were the automated responses sent when I completed one of the tasks. So after multiple days with no response at all (despite the fact that the website says that "A personal concierge will be there to answer any questions at every step", and "Get a firm offer within 3 business hours" for your trade-in) I called the person listed on the auto emails. She said that the General Manager was going to be calling me shortly, and was just finishing up a call. So I waited on a call from him, and......nothing again. No call, nothing. So now I've moved on to another dealer, who is actually responding to me, and providing me with the information I need, so I can complete my transaction shortly. Would definitely not recommend working with Garden City Mazda, unless you want to wind up incredibly frustrated like I did, with nothing to show for it. More
Worked with Ray Brown. He was AMAZING!! We follow him to dealerships because he is truly genuine and not a “car salesman.” He treats everyone like family and is honest and a good person!! TLDR: These people agreed to sell me a car on 11/15/21 for $34k after taxes and fees should of been $37.5K. i have a car loan that is $39,393.08!. They lied added an additional 2K on my car loan. DO NOT T for $34k after taxes and fees should of been $37.5K. i have a car loan that is $39,393.08!. They lied added an additional 2K on my car loan. DO NOT TRUST THEM DO NOT BE NAIVE LIKE ME. THESE PEOPLE WILL STEAL AND SWINDLE AS MUCH FROM YOU AS THEY CAN. DO NOT LET THEM PRETEND THEY ARE HONEST. These people are dishonest and they will take from you as much as they can. you try to come in and do business respectfully to be paid back with greed and taking money that you worked hard for, saved and sacrafice for to be taken advantage of. we all hear stories how dealerships will take advantage of you. Myself being naive thought i could be fair and be repsectfull. The dealer sells a car quickly for MSRP and i will finance through them. I walk away with a new car. That should be great deal for both of us. i was wrong, it wasnt for them. They wanted more cause its never enough for them. I told them i wanted to buy a car at MSRP and i was not interested in purchasing at marked up prices. The manager came over and agreed to sell me the car for $34,000. I signed the paperwork and left with a new car financed through them. I thought i bought a car for the agreed price of $34,000. With taxes which is 8.65% should be an additional $3,000. Dealer fees for NYS docs are $150, NYS inspection and tire taxes should come out to lets say $90. My expected price should of been around $37,500 (this is me rounding numbers). I receive my car loan bill and to my suprise I have a car loan for $39,393.08! where did the extra $2000 come from? this is after purchasing it on November 15th 2021. (by the way my interested is 5.29%) You figure the car prices and high demand would be enough for them but its not they will take as much as they can form you unknowingly. Below is proof, again where did i get an extra $2k tacked on? More
