First timer buying a car. Yes, you read it right. This is my first purchase of a new automobile. Like everything new, I researched a plethora of information both on make/model Yes, you read it right. This is my first purchase of a new automobile. Like everything new, I researched a plethora of information both on make/model as well as how to go about dealing with the sales side. For example, exactly what a lease is, correct ways to finance, how to negotiate, so on and so forth. Turns out there was a lot of negative information regarding auto sales, specifically sales staff. This had me a bit concerned. Although, I wasn't too worried. I figured now a days, most individuals are very needy and I myself am the complete opposite. As I walked in I was greeted by the staff and was quickly met by a sales associate. We began discussing what I was looking for and before you knew it we were out by the car going for a test drive. By the way it was a 2015 Black Dodge Charge RT Road and Track. So yea I was sold immediately after driving. In a few minutes we began talking numbers, advantages, and disadvantages of both finance and lease. The initial numbers due to my lack of credit, probably due from college and not owning a car, were very high for my budget. So simply she asked what I would like to spend and or put down. Within the next few minutes she returned with a smile saying they are working out something and it is looking very positive. I met with a financial expert, I use that term because she most qualified, experienced and professional. We looked at a few different options (leasing vs financing payments) and different cars. Before I knew it I was walking out with the very car I test drove, the exact make, model, type, color, payment, budget, you name it. Besides a few quirks on myside, like not having the title of the car I was trading, or a certified check, it was seamless and painless. So next time someone tells you buying a car is an all-day event, with back and forth negotiating tell them to buy a car in there budget :), or at least be reasonable. At Garden City Chrysler Jeep Dodge, nothing was rushed. Everyone was very professional, kind, curious and respectful. They went out of their way to make sure I left with what I came in for. Even if I wasn't able to afford that specific make, they were happy to make certain adjustments so that I don’t walk away ashamed or upset. I investigated their used vehicle inventory and took my son shopping. After the test drive my son returned with a big smile and thumbs up. We negotiated for a few repairs and they would be taken care of prior to picking up this car. The price of our vehicle was well below KBB. The finance manager had us done in the blink of an eye. In conclusion this dealership is outstanding, big, loaded with great inventory and like most a very friendly staff. More
