My 2013 Subaru Forester had serious oil burning issues, a dead engine, and had only been driven 54,000 miles (in 10 years). Fortunately, I kept ALL of my oil/filter changes and maintenance receipts since 201 dead engine, and had only been driven 54,000 miles (in 10 years). On April 26, 2023, Garber Subaru tested my vehicle, and submitted all of my service & maintenance documentation to Subaru Corporate for review. Garber offered me a "top-of-the-line" 2024 Subaru Wilderness loaner vehicle for the 10 days my car was at their location, i.e., waiting for parts, installation and a test drive upon completion, AND a Subaru Corporate decision on amount I would owe for repairs... with a FULL gas tank at NO CHARGE! I felt like I was in an airplane cockpit with all the bells and whistles in this loaner. I'm on a fixed Social Security Disability income, and was worried about how to afford a new vehicle and/or how much it would cost to get my Subaru repaired. You can imagine my surprise when Garber Subaru's Service Manager, Steve Flowers called me on May 3, 2023 ... to let me know my car was getting a Brand-new engine block and installation for only $500.00! It's like driving a brand-new car again... and, not having to worry. I am extremely appreciative to the Garber Subaru Service staff (Steve Flowers, Service Manager & Caleb, Technician, and whoever else was involved in this process). I have shared my positive experiences with Garber Subaru AND how Subaru Corporate took care of their customer... above and beyond my wildest expectations. I had my Annual Car Inspection done in October, along with an Oil Filter Change, and the mechanic advised me that I should contact Garber Subaru to check out the engine for possible oil residual ... because the engine was smelling and burning oil. On November 10, 2023, I called Garber Subaru at 8 a.m. to schedule an appointment. Wow! I was happy to hear I could bring my car in that same day at 1:30 p.m. A checkup on my vehicle confirmed that oil residual was on the engine block, it was cleaned up, and gasket was sealed ... All at no charge to me! Garber even served donuts and coffee to those in their Service Area Waiting Room. The staff members I dealt with were friendly and extremely professional. I would highly recommend Garber Subaru AND I do as often as possible. The moral of this true story is to remind customers (who make the purchase of a vehicle) to follow and document every, single service completed on their vehicle. I never missed a date, and as a result, I complied with Subaru Corporate's recommendations. I believe a new engine block and labor could have cost me $8,000+ OR even more $ if I had to purchase another vehicle. More
