Blew it the last 10 minutes! We did a lot of research and finally chose a pre-owned Impreza. Had a great sales person in April, she was upbeat and low-pressure. Everything was really great, on the day of our purchase we were very impressed with the friendliness and organization of the entire Garavel staff. Then after purchasing, I stood in the rain while I watched my husband kneel on the wet ground as he attached the license plates to the car. (He feared damage would be done as he watched the sales person strip the first screw...) Is this policy? Skip the coffee mug, key chain, ice scraper and have a tech mount the plates while we're signing papers. Or at the very least, pull the car into the garage if it's raining! Then we got the car home, only to realize that THREE bulbs were out, one of them being the driver's side headlight! So we had to return the car the next day. Everybody was nice and professional, but it would have been even better to not have to get the bulbs replaced in the first place, yes? 100+ checklist was all checked off, that everything passed muster, but 3 bulbs not working is a big red flag. The brand is reliable, smartlooking and reasonable, perfect for New Englanders like us. The Garavel sales and finance staff are outstanding -- professional, knowledgeable and unflappable. We have known Miles Shapiro for four years now. His personal attention and iconoclastic style -- he's an exhibiting artist as well as Garavel management -- colored our experience. It was unusual and interesting. Miles passed the torch to Dave Novik. Like Miles, Dave brought an unusual style to sales -- his background is in the music business. That coupled with his attention to detail, kind and courteous manner and persistent pursuit of us made our recent experience enjoyable., Imagine that, experience with a car dealership enjoyable! Tom Nerreu helped us with financing our last two Subarus. That means we have years of experience together. We know a lot about each other and catch up not only on the new car but also on our families. It's a treat. Mike Ruggiero in Sales is as close to a saint as you can find in this business. He always has a smile, he promptly responds to service questions and he not only takes care of my personal Subaru but also with Paul and Jeremy Garavel's permission services my organization's Subaru Outback. Lastly, hats off to Paul and Jeremy Garavel. They clearly think out of the box and long-term. Their sales staff is unusual -- highly trained, responsive, attentive and expert. They also commit to community work and at a deep discount service my organization's Subaru Outback. It's fair to say we're loyal but pretty demanding customers -- in other words, nice but not easy.
