I live in New Mexico and was purchasing long-distance a Mazda 3 for my granddaughter in the LA area. I knew the exact car I was looking for and the price-range that was reasonable. I dealt with another LA area dealership for over a week previously trying to reach a fair deal for a car in their inventory but they never did what they said they would do. The general manager never even called me back when he said he would! Long story short, I went online searching for another dealer who had the car I needed. Galpin Mazda with their huge inventory had the exact vehicle I was searching for, but I couldn’t stop there. I needed a sense of the integrity of the dealership, so I looked Galpin’s website (they have a Mission Statement. . . read it and you will be impressed). By the grace of God I discovered a website that rated dealers. Galpin scored off the charts great! Additionally, the father/son sales duo Michael and Josh Moses did too. I called Michael Moses, got right through to him and we had a deal within five minutes! I was extremely happy with the whole experience, and my granddaughter is even happier! Save yourself time and money, and most importantly deal with the best. Don’t go anywhere else. More

Very nice and straightforward I came in looking for a specific car and they only had one on the lot. Great Sales Staff and Management I have been doing business with Galpin Motors for over 30 years. Almost all of my upper management contacts have retired, however, Tim Mendenhall, is I have been doing business with Galpin Motors for over 30 years. Almost all of my upper management contacts have retired, however, Tim Mendenhall, is now the GM of Mazda. Tim sold me my 2003 F150 so I went to visit him. Michael and Josh Moses were assigned to show me around. I was not really prepared to buy or lease a new car, but after test driving the Mazda M6 I decided it was time to get into a new vehicle. Tim worked the numbers and within a few hours I drove home in my new ride. Moses was very professional with no pressure and helped in whatever I needed. I even got a free lunch at their restaurant, very delicious by the way. More

My wife and I did shop around and had a pretty good deal lined up from another dealer far away but wanted my local Mazda dealer to match. We came to Galpin Mazda and had the pleasure of working with salesman Michael Moses and his son Josh Moses. Wow what great service we received! Mike is very personable and listened to everything we were trying to do. We had a big problem at the start as we needed to sell our car and our buyer at another competitor’s car dealership had backed out and left us hanging out to dry. Mike actually called that dealership to try to see what happened (they said they’d buy our car one day, and two days later they backed out). It turns out there was a miscommunication on their end so whatever. But we still had a car to unload. Galpin did an appraisal on site and we got a very competitive offer. So we sold our car to Galpin and moved forward to lease the car we were looking at. Unfortunately the car wasn’t on site it had to come over from their sister site in Valencia. It would be a while until the car arrived and the we could see the finance manager. Mike sent us across he street to the Galpin restaurant “The Horseless Carriage” for a dinner on the house for my family. My son, wife and I ate quite a tasty meal and were totally stuffed. That place is like an old diner and the food is good by the way! Mike’s son Josh came over to get us so we could start signing papers. We signed everything with the finance guy Kareen, who was great. He had everything together and we signed the papers pretty quickly. He didn’t hard sell the optional maintenance or tire repair service. Good guy. Anyway, we had a very good experience at Galpin Mazda. More

First they helped my mom get into her first new car in YEARS and then they helped me trade-in my old Mazda and get me out of the terrible loan i was stuck in! I don't have enough good things to say about Michael and Josh, they are realistic and don't try and push you into something your not comfortable with. They truly want you to be happy about your payment/interest and want you to be in love with the car you get and I am just over the moon about my experience! I can't believe I used to say so many nice things about Galpin Mazda and recommend them to everyone. I was a customer of their in 2011 and they've proven this time around in 2014 that they have NO CUSTOMER LOYALTY for someone who has been leasing from them for 3.5 years. NONE. 3 years ago, I would have given Galpin Mazda a 5-star glowing review, and I glad I didn't. (xxxx, I would've given them a glowing review 2 months ago.) in 2011, I met with John Martinez and leased a new 2011 Mazda 3 (my first lease ever), and it ended up being a breath of fresh air after dealing with so many other dealerships and bad salesmen. I said that to him. It was easy. The car was affordable. We were taken care of and my satisfaction was a 10 out of 10. The manager worked within my budget after we got screwed over really hard by Volkswagen by making the same offer that VW originally had on the table for us. Now it's 2014, and my Mazda 3 lease is due to be up in a month. I've been shopping around for other hatchbacks (Ford Focus, for one) but honestly thought I wanted to stick with Mazda because I've had such a great experience with them. Because I liked the car. I really like the pickup of the Mazda 3 sport. It's a good car. I've been dealing with Tony McGilchrist this time and, although he seemed to be like John, this experience was worthy of no-stars. However, I don't blame Tony because I know he answers to someone higher-up. This time, Mazda did not work within my budget. They originally tried to talk me into a Sedan, which I was very clear I didn't want. I pretty much walked out of our first meeting because of this. I said I would come back and I did. I was entertaining taking a 2014 Mazda 3 (the previous year) because I knew the deal would be better for the car they're trying to get rid of for the 2015 cars rolling in and, I don't care, I just wanted another Mazda 3 with them. After much negotiation and sitting around for hours over 2 visits, I get offered a much higher monthly lease payment for the same money down. Then I get hard lined. Why? Because Galpin Mazda thinks their cars are more valuable now than they were in 2011. They think more people will be willing to buy them. Forget the fact that I'm a repeat happy customer. Forget that I've been loyal and recommended a lot of business over to them. (My coworker Ann got the same card I have in a Sedan from them.) They forgot all of that - Galpin Mazda decided to not work within my budget. They even went as far as to only offer me the previous year's hatchback they're trying to get rid of. They didn't even try to get me the newer car. They even initially tried to offer me it in a color I was clear I didn't want so, this last visit, I was clear what color I wanted. But, this time, I was told I shouldn't even entertain the 2015 Mazda 3 because it'll be much more expensive than I wanted. In order to get the payment I had negotiated in 2011, I was told I'd have to pay an additional 1350 down, and that was on top of 1650 already down (this 1650 included a measly $750 return-customer appreciation offer - which is no better than most dealerships that offer $750-1000 off if you switch to their dealer). I paid 900 down the first time!!!! Why is it so much more expensive for a loyal customer???? The car is the same price as my current Mazda!!! 3000 down? Are you joking??? All in all I walked away today extremely dissatisfied and regretting ever leasing a Mazda from Galpin. I want to let everyone know about my dissatisfaction, and to avoid Galpin at all costs because they're not loyal to loyalty. I'll be sure to post this rating everywhere possible so everyone knows that GALPIN MAZDA IS NOT LOYAL TO THEIR MOST LOYAL CUSTOMERS. It's a shame I had to learn this now. Making 20 extra dollars off me a month + a RIDICULOUS down payment is more important to Galpin Mazda than having me drive another car off their lot. I got an email from Galpin Mazda the other day when I visited them titled "Your complete satisfaction is key." You can say whatever you want Galpin, but your actions prove you definitely don't mean it. Customer loyalty means nothing to Galpin Mazda, and they chose to turn away someone who is fiercely loyal. In this case, actions definitely speak louder than words. I'll be indignantly handing back my 2011 Mazda 3 in the next month. On a side note, the Mazda 3 is a great little car with great sporty features like amazing pickup, and I'd recommend it to anyone. I'm going to be making some treks outside of LA to other Mazda dealerships in order to find someone else worthy of my Mazda loyalty. More
