Not having to purchase a new car in 15 years, I dreaded going to a dealership. I don’t like to haggle, be expected to take a car that is less than what I want, and being talked into payments that prove to going to a dealership. I don’t like to haggle, be expected to take a car that is less than what I want, and being talked into payments that prove to be uncomfortable. Since I had my eye on a 2012 Honda Accord Coupe EX –V6 for the past few years (drove my sister’s Honda often and loved the feel of a Honda), I went to the Honda website and *built* the car I wanted on line. Model, year, color, interior, features, options and even figured out my estimated payments. Filled out a few basic questions on their secure credit application site and within a few hours I received a call from sales associate, Armen Bandari, at the Mission Hills, California Honda Dealership. Not only did he find the exact car I wanted with affordable payments, the car was actually fully-loaded so I was getting even more for my money! Still having the aversion to “car lots” he offered and then proceeded to drive the car to my home the same day! We finished the paperwork in the comfort of my own home; he took the time to show me all the features of my new car and then drove away in my trade-in. My negative past experience of buying a new car has now been completely obliterated. I didn’t want to give up the style of my Camaro but the Honda Accord Coupe is a much sportier car *and* I built, bought, traded in my old car, and then had my new car in my garage – in ONE DAY! I can’t thank Arem and all the folks at Mission Hills Honda enough. More

I cannot say enough about the service at Galpin Honda. If I could give all tens, I would. My car shopping experience started when my 1998 Honda Civic needed so many expensive repairs, I just couldn't j If I could give all tens, I would. It would have cost me just as much to fix it as it would to buy a new car. For me, this cast doom over my life. I LOVED my car!!! And, I was soooooo sad to have to give it up!!! I still am. :( I was absolutely not prepared to have to buy a new car this year. I had hoped to wait another 50,000 miles with my old car. I'll never know what went wrong with my '98, as I was the 5th owner of that car. I dreaded the car buying process, but felt there was no better place to start than where I was happy in the first place. With Honda. I chose Galpin because all the company vehicles at work are bought and serviced there. The day I got the call about the repairs needed on my '98 (which was in pieces at Galpin), I asked Angela Mancini (service supervisor) to get me an estimated trade-in value. After work that day (Friday), I test drove... 1)a brand new Civic- I didn't like initially 2)a brand new Accord- which I felt was too big of a car for me. 3)a 4 year old Accord- was not an ideal choice, but would be a smaller monthly payment. and spent a couple hours negotiating with Dennis Tae (Sales...or GEM Specialist is his official title) and Janet Colbalt (Dennis' Manager, who I believe specializes in return customers). They were extremely patient with me as I explained my predicament with my '98, my strained finances and the fact that the nature of my job requires me to be laid off 2-4 months per year. I was firm with them that no matter what, I wouldn't buy anything unless I could afford it on unemployment. We ran through a number of scenarios...and many of them more than once I'm sure. None of them felt right. The focus was on buying an Accord because of the great deals Honda was having on them. I just couldn't get over the hugeness, so I told them I needed to think about it over the weekend. I also needed to test drive cars from other brands so I knew why I would ultimately say 'yes' to a Honda once again. We all exchanged contact info and parted ways. Upon doing so, I never felt like they were pressuring me. And I didn't feel like they were irritated with me for taking up so much of their time. I had their undivided attention and they assured me they understood why I had the concerns I had. I carried their compassion with me all weekend. Let me add here that both Dennis and Janet had a good sense of humor...or at least they seemed to get mine. :) As stressful as this whole process can be, they were great at seeing humor in the reality I was about to experience. Our conversation was serious, but light. It was 107 degrees here in Los Angeles on Saturday. My boyfriend and I drove around in his car (with no A/C!!!) testing all the options. I drove 6 more cars across 4 other brands. I text Dennis Tae, who gave me permission to call or text him whenever I needed to. I chatted with him about my findings and he gave feedback to help me compare a Honda with a competitors car that I liked, but wasn't 100% on board with. By the end of Saturday, I was still on the fence. Sunday morning, I decided I needed to go to a different Honda location and test a Civic again. I felt that the reason I didn't initially like it was because I test drove it right after an Accord...which is a completely different kind of car. I liked the size of the Civic so I needed to stay within that range. Plain and simple. The Accord was out. So...Off to the Honda location near me I went. Turns out I was right. Driving the Civic and comparing it to all the other Civic wanna-be cars out there put everything into perspective. I schedule a meeting with Dennis, via text, for Monday. On Monday, Dennis and Janet Colbalt, asked me right off the bat why I came back to Honda. I explained to them my Civic vs. Civic-like cars comparison. I requested to test drive the Civic I wanted to buy...not just any Civic off the lot. They understood completely and assured me that they would rather have me drive MY car to make sure I was completely happy. Dennis even sat in the car with me and explained what every button was for. :) Now I just needed it for the right price. The negotiation process was way easier than I had prepped for. They took into consideration all my concerns from Friday. They didn't miss a step anywhere. They immediately came out with a price that was basically the highest I was willing to pay. I tried going lower, but instead stayed with their price with an accessory thrown in for a fraction of it's original cost. And, on top of all this, Honda was giving me $1000 trade-in value for my '98! I've heard this is rare! That meant I didn't need a down payment...which was PERFECT! I don't have enough money for that anyway! I'm sooo sooo happy that they were able to finagle a way for me to lease an affordable car! With negotiations over, Dennis and Janet explained all the terms of the lease and answered every question I had. I never felt like they were xxxxxxxx or like they were hiding anything. I'm a numbers person, so I calculated everything as they spoke...they waited patiently and explained taxes, fees, payments, and percentages as I needed them too. From them...I was passed along to David Godina (Finance)who had me sign all the paperwork. David was thorough with all his explanations. He even drew charts depicting GAP insurance and diagrams showing what was included in the different maintenance packages. And, when it came down to choosing one of those packages, even he was able to make an option affordable for me. I got an awesome deal and tons of peace-of-mind. I walked outta there feeling like a proud Honda owner...not like I made a huge mistake. I am so grateful for such awesome service. And, now my boyfriends plans to start at Galpin Honda when his car finally dies. I recommend them 200%. ********** More

Having been in retail for over 30 years I was immediately impressed by her sense of urgency in helping me but also her friendliness and real desire to satisfy me. So I went and was glad I did. My sales consultant was Chris Sandoval who answered every question and concern I had with the utmost profressionalism and courtesy. I got the price I wanted and bought the car within an hour. Maritza Magana went through the financing with great patience and care and was extremely polite. And finally Glen Phillips took the time to show me all about my new car. It was a great experience from start to finish, a home run in my book. What a great staff of people with a goal of completely making my experience there great. They succeeded in every way. More

Dennis Tae was my salesman and what a salesman, he is very knowledgeable about the cars he is selling. He helped me select a vehicle to suit my needs. He patiently explained all the features on both cars and I drove both cars. During the test drive, he answered more questions but in the end I liked the Accord coupe which I bought. I highly recommend Dennis Tae and the Galpin Honda team if you are in the market for a new car. More
