I went in to look at a used 4runner that I had seen listed for sale on Gale's website. When I arrived at the dealership I was met by Shaun Stevens who was very knowledgeable and friendly. He went over the options and features on the truck and we went for a test drive. I had noticed a few minor things wrong with the truck and was told that it could be repaired and cleaned up by the weekend. The vehicle was certified and the repairs were numerous but minor. I decided to make the purchase. I gave a down payment and arranged to pick the vehicle up that weekend. Basically, repairs and a good cleaning was promised. After two weeks, they had made a few attempts to repair problems and clean car but it was a huge run around and consumed much of my time and driving back and forth tot he dealership. They promised to fix however I think the truck just sat on their lot and wasn't even looked at. I am not sure they ever looked over the vehicle to certify it. I think they just took it as a trade in and put it on the lot :( I will never ever go back. More

purchased 2004 Toyota 4Runner--it has been back 3x for the same problems/it should have been taken care of before the purchase-now it's back there for the 2nd time on the same complaints-- at the drop o the same problems/it should have been taken care of before the purchase-now it's back there for the 2nd time on the same complaints-- at the drop off this morning I was told that there is a recall for the brake system that was never taken care of--why wasn't this taken care of before hand--I have already been called to pick it up--I was told by the mechanic that the recall had been fixed--but he does not feel the slight pulling to the left and shake in the steering wheel when the car is on the highway and as far as the vibraton I feel the brake pedal--I was advised to by thicker shoes. Shaun Stevens, the sales representative with whom I dealt, was accommodating and personable, and was professional throughout my entire experience. He had the answers to all my questions, and was obviously well-versed in Scion knowledge. Dominic, who completed the sale, was great, and the transaction couldn't have been smoother. When it's time for service, I know without a doubt that Rich, Roger, Mary Jane, and the rest of the service staff will give me and my "new' car the same wonderful attention and service that they've been providing for the eight years I've been coming to them. I recenly had the misfotune of an accident with my 2008 Avalon. After seaching extensively I found one at Gale Toyota. My lucky day. The people at Gale did eveything to make that happen. A quick illustration. Upon getting my car home I found that one of the 2 keyless remotes didn't work. When Gale couldn't quickly repair it, they simply gave me a new one. These are not inexpensive items. I am a very p[leased customer. More

My husband bought me a car for our anniversary this past August 2011. To begin with everything went great. My husband made it very clear that we needed a car that was safe for our 2 young children to be in. August 2011. To begin with everything went great. A week after having the car, my husband put the car up on the lift (he is a mechanic) to find multiple things wrong with it. The rear wheel cylinders were both broken, not to mention the brake lines were all rotted out and could have gone at any minute (with my kids in the car) he also checked the oil sticker which said it was up to date, but when he checked it, he said it was the blackest oil he had ever seen, so basically the oil sticker had been changed but not the oil or the filter. He called Gale Toyota who said to bring it down and they would fix what was wrong with it, however we were leaving for Pennsylvania in the morning and were expecting to have a CERTIFIED car to get there in, not to mention, he didn't want these people working on the car since they obviously didn't know what they were doing, and I wanted my children in a car that I knew was safe... so John the sales manager told us that if we fixed the car that night he would pay for the parts and my husbands' hourly labor charge which worked out to be a total of a little over $200.00. John said he would send the check...that was back in August and it is now the end of December. We called a couple times and got the run around until we just decided, well they weren't going to give us our money. Now a couple days ago we get a letter in the mail saying that our registration had been canceled because of $80 in taxes that were due...which didn't make sense because we have not even had the car that long, so once again my husband called to see what was going on, if there was a lien on the previous owner, John said it didn't make sense and that he would look into it and to fax him the information. Today my husband called again because they still wouldn't get back to us and now they are trying to tell us that it is our responsibility to take care of it because when they registered our car it was only a 60 day registration!!!!!!! Now does anyone want to tell us how you get a 60 registration with hard plates that lasts almost 4 months??? And why did we only get 60 days? Why didn't they feel the need to mention to us that we would have to reregister in 2 months? So now we have to pay this money on top of my husband needs a day off of work to go to the DMV and pay another $93 to register the car AGAIN...this "certified" car that already needs a new front axel...this certified car that could have killed my kids and someone else's...I wouldn't have given such a big down payment if I knew I would need that money to fix all of Gale's screw ups. I will NEVER buy another car from them and I will NEVER recommend them but I will definately warn everyone else about how they have been with us. I am absolutely disgusted that people in business can behave this way and still sell cars to families. More
