I have been equally impressed with Gale Toyota from sales experience to service to now upgrading to my new car this recent experience met all of my expectations. I love the car, Chelsea the salesperson was knowledgeable and made the process easy. More

We called about a vehicle, left a deposit over the phone, drove up the same morning to test drive the car. We negotiated a price and needed to register it out of state. The sales manager, Justin, was working on the process for us while we went to have some lunch. Our salesman, Jon, contacted us that they couldn't register it out of state for us but would help us by discounting us a portion of the tax. We said we would think about it because we still had the deposit down on the vehicle. That evening, we chatted with customer service and they came down on the price a bit more. She was going to check on getting the tires balanced and assured us we would get a text back when we could pick it up. We never heard back that night. We contacted them in the morning and they ended up selling the car out from underneath us to someone else. NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE! More

I was told I did not drive my truck enough 5016 miles to keep the battery charged, and that I should drive it more or buy a battery tender for it, I was told because it has computers on the truck that suck the battery down. I am confused that at over $60,000.00 for a truck they suggest a battery tender, I start this truck every other day and let it run for 20 minutes, besides some driving. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE SUPPORT FROM THE SERVICE DEPT. I mean do they start their inventory every day or have battery tenders on all of them? More
Extremely bad customer service by sales manager (Update below original review) Original Review January 2019 Usually pretty decent experience with recalls. Yet latest experience was extremely po (Update below original review) Original Review January 2019 Usually pretty decent experience with recalls. Yet latest experience was extremely poor. Specifically a dead battery when my wife came to pickup our vehicle that had a recall completed the day before by Gale Toyota. (This is a 2012 vehicle with regular maintenance done to it that had no problem starting in colder weather leading up to recall). instead of addressing issue they simply gave my wife a jump and sent her on her way. Sure enough at next stop at costco - car would not start. Initial service rep I spoke to after hearing about the initial jump told me that “we put car into accessory mode during the recall, combined with cold night could have caused issue” - When calling back after hearing that car doesnt start anymore - and asking them to send someone (my wife was closeby at costco) - to at least give her a jump again - was told they cant send anyone, after escalating to sales manager (Jason I believe) (service manager was out) was fed a bunch of excuses of how this is not their fault and “your wife could have left the lights on while shopping “. At this point naturally I got a little upset - and told them that I would prefer to have them do the right thing - yet if they do not we will get a tow ourselves and then they will receive a demand letter from attorney to reimburse us. To which the sales manager acted extremely unprofessionally, getting disrespectful, as well as stating that he wont let anyone threaten him, how conversation was over etc. Finally after he calmed down when I asked him how it would make him feel if this happened to his wife - he said they would try to help and he would call me back which he did after a few minutes - (in the meantime my wife was able to get a jump from costco tire service) as I was attempting to tell the sales manager on his return call that i appreciate him trying to turn this around and do the right thing - he rudely interrupted me, accused me of mistreating his employees (claiming he listened to their “tapes”) - and proceeded to tell me to find another dealership to work with. Amazing how they think that it is a good idea to 1) send my wife on her way with just a jump in 15 degree weather 2) to think that customer service is “man handling” your customers and try to assert some type of superiority (instead of de-escalating a clearly upset husband that has his wife stranded with a dead battery after Gale Toyota performed a recall) 3) to conclude all of this by adding insult to injury when I was about to complement them on attempting to do the right thing - to imply they do not want customers such as us at their dealership. Wow. No worries Gale Toyota - we hear you loud and clear - we will take our business to Balise Toyota who from what we hear understands customer service - and will get our car purchases in the future as well as friends and family referrals. #FailedCustomerService UPDATE 2/22/19 Service Manager reached out, apologized and went out of his way to make this right. Very glad that they took ownership of the issue at least after the fact. Service manager replaced the battery and personally apologized to my wife. Sales manager however made no attempt at all to make this right. So 4.5 stars for service, ZERO star for sales (how hard can it be to pick up the phone and apologize) Average 3 stars. More
BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE We have leased two Toyota's from them and the sales and service dept shows ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE I called in to make an appointment for my 2014 Toyot We have leased two Toyota's from them and the sales and service dept shows ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE I called in to make an appointment for my 2014 Toyota RAV4 and had requested a loaner vehicle. They said they don't give loaner cars, but my RAV4 needed service as the trunk power door is not working, breaking system needs to be checked and the glove compartment is not locking, but at the time of leasing my cars from them, they promised us things; such as, when we drop off the car for service, they will provide a loaner car. I had spoken to the sales lady named Barbara two weeks ago regarding service and a loaner car. She had told me the service manager, Rich, would call me, but I have not heard from him. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Service dept. has bad service ,they don't care about their csutomers More
Poor service from Gale Toyota and the service manager This is the second issue dealing with Gale Toyota's service dept. First issue was they did not do everything they told me they did on my 5000 service. This is the second issue dealing with Gale Toyota's service dept. First issue was they did not do everything they told me they did on my 5000 service. When I ask if they did everything for my 5000 service I was told yes. Then they offered me a free 5000 service for not doing what they were suppose to do on the previous service. I go back in yesterday for another 5000 service. This was my free service they offered me. I get home I find grease finger prints on my passenger side door handle, same on the right and left front fenders, also grease prints on my hood and grill area along with two fresh chips in the paint on the top of my left front fender right where some of the finger prints were. This is a WHITE truck how can't you see grease finger prints on it. I reported it to the dealership. I received a call from the so called service manager Richard Golden this morning. He said I should of brought the truck back so he could wipe the finger prints off. Pretty stupid thing to say to a customer when I live 15 miles from the dealership one way. What happen with doing a good job the first time. Richard was more concerned about defending his service techs than he was to anything I had to say. I asked what did I do to get this kind of service from Gale Toyota. Then I figured it out. I went back and gave them a second chance. Poor service work and very poor customer relations from there so called service manager. Oh and by the way you don't have a low enough rating on your chart below to rate this dealership service dept. I have lost total faith in this dealership. Its sad because it makes everyone at the dealership look bad. Who can you trust anymore? It's certainly not Gale Toyota's service dept. More
they ripped me off well this review took me a long time to write and it's because i don't usually like to talk bad about anyone but... I purchased a car from them on aug well this review took me a long time to write and it's because i don't usually like to talk bad about anyone but... I purchased a car from them on august 31 2017 and it's January 1 of 2018 and the car needs a lot of work done to it.. only 4 months ?? i spent 13,000 on a car and have to put in a few thousand dollars 4 months later ?? when i got it i had to go back and get an axle fixed and guess what they didn't fix it and managed to avoid the noise it makes when it's bad and you take a sharp turn.. They supposedly took it to the Subaru dealer and fixed it but now both axles are broken and i have to come out of my pocket to fix it on top of the 13,000 i payed for the car.. Another thing is the rubber that goes around the inside of the door. came a month after i had the car and that's after the 2-3 weeks they had my car for repairs after i purchased it... Last thing is my wheel bearing sounds like i'm in an airplane it's so loud.. when i asked why the car sounds like that when i first bought it the salesman said that's how Subarus sound and me not knowing much about car thought it was fine until i took it to a Subaru dealer near me and they told me everything that was wrong with my car and let me test drive the same car from their dealership... I'm super pissed about all of this and just want to prevent anyone going there and getting ripped off.... oh and i had a few free oil changes and haven't gone back to get them I've paid for the oil changes I've gotten just to avoid any more problems with this dealership... super unprofessional More
Not totally honest on a new car deal I closed a deal for a 2018 Avalon Limited but they came back and said they would not do the door edge guards that were previously agreed on. I told t I closed a deal for a 2018 Avalon Limited but they came back and said they would not do the door edge guards that were previously agreed on. I told the sales person that this was nickel and dime tactics and I would take my business elsewhere. Within 30 seconds they said OK that would do the Toyota door edge guards. So what went wrong, they had a company come in and put on the body side molding and the door edge guards. When I picked up the car they showed me the door edge guards that were a clear plastic strips running down the edge of each door. Within a week one of them started coming off the door so I went on Toyota's web site and found that these were not Toyota's edge guards. They should been Toyota's metal color coordinated edge guards but instead they were CHEAP plastic film strips that were put on most likely for free or no more that a couple of dollars their cost. A pretty crappy tacit for a car costing over $40,000. I sent them the below email (I removed the salesman name): "Salesman, after one the door edge guards started peeling off I went on line to look at the official Toyota edge guards. Guess what I found out, the stuff you guys put on my car was not the real Toyota edge guards, rather some cheap clear thin plastic crap. Very disappointed that Gale Toyota would pull such a stunt and try to beat a customer out of a $75.00 your cost item! This is what it should have been: • Thermoplastic-coated stainless steel is precisely matched to the exterior finish • Compression-fitted to door edge contours • Blend seamlessly to complement exterior styling I am think about going straight to Toyota and complain, this is the ninth Toyota I have purchased, the third from Gale and it will be the last I buy from Gale. By the way Salesman, you knew those were not the real door edge guards (at least you should have), why did you let them pull that crap on one of your repeat customers?" I did get a call from the salesman the following day and he tried to defend their actions saying the ones they put on should not have been peeling of and maybe it was because it was a humid day when they put them on. They also offered to get the real Toyota ones in and get them installed. I reiterated they had tried to cheat the customer and not to try to defend the actions they took. I also declined their offer to attempt to correct the situation since I never intend to do any further business with them. More
