First Car Purchase I went to Hyundai after my father mentioned a specific car that he thought I should look at and consider. I went to several other dealerships and also drove a handful of other cars. Some of the salesman at the other places were arrogant and did not give off the right vibes. I came to Hyundai and asked for James who happily greeted me and let me test drive an Elantra. The Elantra was the best priced car I had driven and also had more of my desired features than any other car. I was able to take the car and drive it for a while, and then came back the next week to purchase it. The service from James and Hyundai far surpassed that which I received from the local Ford, Toyota, and Chevrolet dealerships. More

Simple, easy transaction Came in knowing what I wanted. Everyone I spoke with was pleasant and not too pushy. No "market adjustments" or other nonsense. Dealer graciously swapped the car they had (grey) with an identical model from another dealership for no charge (white). Paperwork was easy. Only downside was the small scratch on the spoiler. I believe the previous dealer did it, but Friendship polished it right out. I will definitely consider them for purchasing a new car in the future when the Plug-In version of the Ioniq comes out or if Hyundai decides to bring over the same tech that they offer in overseas markets (see review below). For duplication, I'm going to paste my review that I sent to Hyundai earlier in this review. Maybe the dealer has more pull than I do about some of the features. ------------------ Knew what I wanted before I showed up: 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Premium with Ultimate Package. They graciously swapped their vehicle with another dealer in order to get the color I wanted (they had grey, I wanted white). Unfortunately, the vehicle was driven between dealerships and had 169 miles on it when I took delivery. I would have preferred if it had been on a flatbed or trailer instead. That being said, the transfer/swap was done very quickly. Ultimately, it doesn't matter, but it would have been nice. The car also had a scratch/scuff on the driver's side spoiler. They did polish it to remove the scratch, but it was a little disconcerting to see it. I'm not sure which dealer caused the damage. I went over the car a bit more closely after finding it. Odds are, it was the dealer they traded with that caused it. Regarding the car itself, I do enjoy it a lot, but there are some things I wish it had. Essentially, all the equipment you can get in Europe or Canada (literally ANYWHERE outside the US) should have been on the car. For the MSRP that this car carried when fully loaded, it should contain ALL the options that those other markets have. It was massively disappointing to realize that the car is lacking these features. I mainly bought the tech package for the HID headlights and better sound system. I was hesitant to spend that much for those two features, but if it contained the items that the other markets got, I wouldn't have hesitated in the slightest. But for $3000 it cost me I feel as though I got totally screwed on the package when compared against what other markets get. Specifically, I'm speaking about the following features: -heated steering wheel -rain sensing wipers -ventilated seats -front parking sensors -power folding mirrors -lane keep assist (not just the warning) -blue stitching on the black seats -blue accents on start/stop button and HVAC surrounds -blue accent on front bumper lip Hyundai has already developed these components and systems for EVERY SINGLE OTHER MARKET IN THE WORLD. Seeing them eliminate these for the US model is a blatant money grab. This is especially considering the market price in the UK is £24,585 ($31,814.71) which closely matches the MSRP in the US. Other than that, I'm satisfied with the car. I'm currently averaging 50-51 MPG out of it, but I also live in the mountains in NC so that's hurting the efficiency. If I leave the mountains, it consistently climbs towards the EPA rating. Highest MPG I've had so far is 52 MPG. When the plug-in version comes out, I will consider switching to it if my work builds a charger for it. Finally, thank you for building a hybrid car that just looks like a normal car. It's nice to have a vehicle that doesn't have gaudy, over the top styling. It's styled in a fresh, simple, clean manner that really looks good. NOW STOP BEING GREEDY AND BRING THE REST OF THE EQUIPMENT FROM THE OTHER MARKETS TO THE US. More
