Thank you, James! I brought my Traverse in for service and ran into James Gutierrez while walking to the showroom. We were going to look at some of the vehicles we saw I brought my Traverse in for service and ran into James Gutierrez while walking to the showroom. We were going to look at some of the vehicles we saw online that interested us, but had no plans of purchasing. James showed us a few vehicles and let us test drive them. We eventually found one that worked for us and he made the deal happen (we almost left there with two new cars)... to be honest, still considering the other car if he can make it work for us. Overall, great customer service with no pressure. More

Horrible Sales Experience I want to start of by saying that I have been loyal to the Chevy Brand for over 13 years. I have purchased a Chevy Cobalt, A C10 pickup, a Chevy Astro I want to start of by saying that I have been loyal to the Chevy Brand for over 13 years. I have purchased a Chevy Cobalt, A C10 pickup, a Chevy Astro, a Camaro, a Luxury Van, and leased an Equinox, a Colorado, and what should have been a lease on a new Colorado but turned into a finance deal. That is 8 Chevy vehicles. I have also purchased 2 other vehicles from Freeway Chevrolet directly. My family has purchased multiple Chevy vehicles as well and I have convinced several people to deal with Chevrolet and/or Freeway Chevy for business. On 8/9 I went to Freeway Chevrolet in Chandler to turn in my leased 2016 Chevy Colorado, and switch to a 2019 Silverado. I had an email from Freeway Chevy that showed they could get me into a 2019 Colorado for $446 a month, but I was hoping to get into a Silverado ( a bigger truck). After talking to the sales person (Holli Blauvelt) I was left to believe that my payments for a Silverado would be $900-$1000 a month, so I opted for the Colorado. Now the one in the email was a Work Truck (basically the lowest model) and I found a LT (step up) for a comparable price. I understood that because the price was different, my monthly price would also be different. So when they came back at $555 a month ($20 higher than my current payments) I accepted the deal. This deal involved me turning in my old lease, and Freeway Chevy paying off the remaining months of the lease (3 payments) as part of the roll forward program offered through GM Financial. As we went into the Finance room, we dealt with a new finance guy, Michael Blevin who was less than educated on the systems and the process and took about an hour to complete the forms we needed to sign. Because of the delays, admittedly I was frustrated with the process at this time because it was late and I had to work the next day, I signed all the papers and accepted the terms of the deal. I was truly excited for this new truck, I was happy to step up a model and get something better than I had before. Everything should have been great moving forward. On 8/10 I received a call from Dennis( cannot remember his last name) to let me know that GM Financial excepted my trade in, and the lease was being grounded and approved. On 8/22 I received a call while at work, I ignored it because I was working and later checked my voice mail. Michael Blevin called me to tell me they approved my lease but needed me to sign some new papers. I was headed out of town the next day so I wanted to make sure everything was good. I called back to speak to him but he apparently left for the day. So I figured it wasn't super important to get the new papers signed right away. I called back on Monday 8/26 and was told that he was not working that day. He then called me back on Wednesday, again letting me know that they got the lease approved but I needed to come in and sign some forms. He also let me know this time that Candy would have to sign something as well. No problem, I let her know, and we went to the dealership when we both got off work. We show up at about 6PM. Michael Blevin then comes in and shows a new contract, says we got you approved but this time its for $710. Immediately, I say no, that is not the term I signed for and agreed to. Luckily I have the original contract with me, so I show him what was signed. He advises me that the lease was subject to bank approval and they could not get it approved. I read through my contract- the only piece of paper they gave me. And cannot find anywhere, where it says that it was pending approval. This contract shows that the agreement is finalized between Freeway Chevrolet, using Wells Fargo as the bank(lien holder). So we ask to speak to a manager. 45 minutes later, without any conversations to let us know they were still trying to find someone to speak to us, Michael Broadway enters the equation and tells us that he was working with other customers, we saw him and another finance guy sitting in a room chatting just minutes before he came to us. He attempts to tell me the same thing, this is pending approval and that it’s a different offer now. He tells me that that although my monthly payments are moving from $555 to $710, the price is not changing. By my math, $155 increase is absolutely a change in price. At this point we are done. Michael Broadway had the audacity to tell me, that even though the contract does not state that it is pending bank approval, its "just the way it is, so deal with it". We ask to get my old truck back so we can go somewhere else. Well they inform me that they don’t have it any more, Gm Financial has taken possession of it. Well I'm in a complicated situation at this point, here I have a truck that isn't mine, but I cant even get to my truck. So we ask to deal with the General Manager at this point. Michael Broadway and the other finance manager, tell me, There is no need to get him involved, and refuse to give me his information. So we leave, with the new truck. And I take to social media. For the nest 3 hours, I message/email/dm everyone that I can think of. I reach out to various news organizations, Gm Financial, Chevrolet, General Motors, Chapman Auto, Multiple other dealerships, Cancer survivor groups, companies that I have dealt with, friends, family, the AZ Attorney General, Consumer Reports, Better Business Bureau, and others. I went through Google, Yelp, and Facebook reviews. I receive several responses from all over the place. Except…..Freeway Chevy. I would have thought this would be a priority for them. Well at about 3PM I finally got a reply. Tim Hort, The General Manager of Freeway Chevy, responded to my review on Google. I reached out to him and explained the situation. We started corresponding via email and phone, he reassured me that he was on it, and was seeking a resolution. Keep in mind, by this time, I have talked to GM Financial and confirmed that my truck is gone, and my lease has been closed out. I have filed a case with Chevrolet who has created a case against Freeway Chevy and is awaiting a response. The GM of Chapman Auto has also responded to my mother review and I have talked to him directly. Friday afternoon, Tim Hort calls me to let me know that he is able to get me scheduled at $690 a month and it is the best deal they can find me. I explain that this is not even in the ballpark of what I agreed to. Little did he know, that I reached out to several financial institutions and was Pre-Approved for financing. Well, Freeway Chevrolet messed up and re-listed my exact truck for sale again. Through my bank I was able to determine the best possible deal I could get, for my exact truck. I used the pricing from the dealership, all the rebates I could find, and used the accurate APR from my bank. I come to a price of $580. Again, I'm not great at math, but this is closer to the original price I agreed to then any of the deals that Freeway has offered, even the GM after telling me $690 was the "BEST" he could come up with. When I emailed him this quote, he called me to say that it looked about right, the only difference was that mine included a rebate for a new lease, and they cannot give me that rebate because the financing is for a purchase. That’s fair and I accepted that answer. But why was I then told, there were no additional rebates or discounts that can be applied? Why was I told that this new deal, was better than what even the GM could get, and he told me that not even his finance guys could get this deal approved? Am I to believe that I, having no experience in the finance industry, was able to come across a better deal than the company that deals with this a hundred times a day. Am I to believe that the GM, is honestly not able to do anything better than what I can find? IF this is the case, why do dealership exist? Why not just have banks do this work? I ultimately signed the finance agreement because at this point I knew it was the best possible deal that the banks could offer me, because I did the work to find this out. My credit is not the greatest. I know that and fully admit it. I know that I have to be reasonable on things and can't get the best price possible, but I can get the best price possible for me. Suffering from Cancer took a toll on me, my mind, my body, and my finances and my family has done nothing but support me. Several institutions have waived fees, helped me with payments, delayed sending things to creditors and even reduces prices for me. I have enlisted in several companies and programs to help rebuild my credit. I have worked to make improvements anywhere I can. Prior to getting cancer, I wanted to purchase a house, and was moving forward with that. But being out of work for over a year, receiving partial income, my wife being laid off by a shady employer, having kids, needing to pay for day care, and food, and trying to piece together what I could to make sure my family had a roof over their heads, and food in their bellies, was the hardest battle of it all. Having to skip meals at times to make sure your kids have food is rough, especially when you are fighting to make sure you can see the next day. Rearranging payments, to pay at the latest possible day, to avoid service interruptions, but still have money is incurably hard. It makes you feel less then human. Asking a service provider to keep service on for 2 more days so you can come up with money, makes you feel pretty low. None of that compares to what Freeway Chevy has put me through. Feeling like at any moment, I could have my car taken, and be stranded at work, or stuck at home not able to get to work. Knowing that I may be stuck to an agreement that I cant afford, that may result in not being able to afford simple things because of a few shady people. Well that stings in a way that cannot be explained. That takes your breath away in a way that no human should ever feel. No one, should be afraid of how they have to live because of something someone else has done to them. Moving forward, I am only dealing with Freeway Chevy for what I need to. I have 3 free oil changes that they are giving me (because it’s a GM thing not because they are nice) and the occasional warranty things that I may have to use them for. But for anything else, including future vehicle purchase, I will be going to other dealerships, and using banks directly. After 13 years of purchasing and leasing vehicles and being loyal to them, they have made me feel like all they care about is getting money and do not value repeat business. I encourage everyone to do 2 things, get pre approval from your bank before going to a dealership and if possible find the exact car you want through them, it will save you time and money. Allen in Service: Thank you Purchased a brand new vehicle at Freeway a few months ago; and I was concerned because an indicator light kept showing up on the dash. Made contact wi Purchased a brand new vehicle at Freeway a few months ago; and I was concerned because an indicator light kept showing up on the dash. Made contact with Freeway, I was linked to Allen and he was so friendly and listened to my concerns. Allen had an appointment set for me the next day; morning. I was a little worried; showed Allen the indicator light code that was on the dash. Allen knew right away what was going on and after service was complete, Allen informed the issue I was having was a manufacturer issue. I hope I get to work with him again anytime I experience any manufacturer concerns. Besides the service, Allen even got me in for an oil change. I was pleased. Thank you again Allen. More
Changing the terms When you trade in a leased vehicle for a new one, they clearly give you the terms of the lease on the new leased vehicle. Length, monthly payments, e When you trade in a leased vehicle for a new one, they clearly give you the terms of the lease on the new leased vehicle. Length, monthly payments, etc. For them to come back 12 days later, say they got the lease but you need to sign some papers; only to find out that the terms include an increase in the monthly lease of over $150. Not to mention, they already returned your previously leased vehicle to GM. Basically you have no options, they can't get your previous vehicle back and you can't afford a $150 increase on the new vehicle. It just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. More
