I have had my car serviced at this dealership since 2009 when I purchased it from them. Normally I have excellent service and no issues. My service on Monday fell short of my expectations. On a positive when I purchased it from them. Normally I have excellent service and no issues. My service on Monday fell short of my expectations. On a positive note, I will say I was given a same day appointment for the oil change. I arrived a few minutes early and checked in with the service adviser with no issues. I had my toddler with me and didn’t think it would take long. Over an hour later, a different service adviser comes to tell me that my battery failed the test twice and that I needed a new battery at the cost of $185 approximately. I questioned it since it was only a couple years old, and I hadn’t had any issues. The service adviser, I don’t know his name, just told me that this is Texas and gave no other details. I messaged my husband, and we decided to go ahead and replace it in addition to the oil change. The adviser told me it would be a few minutes. Another 30 minutes or so and he came back since my car was finally ready. He asked my toddler if he was ready to get back in his car seat which he was at that point. The adviser gave me the paperwork and handed me my keys while I waited to pay. I didn’t think much of it at the time although they usually pull my car into the bay which was empty. I paid and walked out to my car in the rain. It was parked a distance from the service bay. When I got there, it was parked so close to cars on both sides that I couldn’t even open the door wide enough to get my son in the car much less the car seat. I had to wedge myself in the driver’s seat and pull my son on my lap so I could pull forward to an entire empty row of parking spots. Then I was able to put him in the car safely. Most of the parking lot/ sales lot was empty except for the row of cars where mine was parked. When I got home and looked at the paperwork from the dealership with my husband, the battery showed 645 out of 750 CCA and no other information. We don’t think the battery needed to be replaced based on that alone and were given no other information other than it failed the test. I had no issues with my car starting or any indications that the battery was going bad. I don’t know if they were trying to upsell or what, but it definitely doesn’t sit well with us. This is far below the caliber of service that I’m used to at this dealership and from Toyota. I’m assuming that the oil change was done correctly and everything else on my car passed their report card. I go out of my way to do all of my routine maintenance and repairs at Toyota because of their reputation and stellar customer service , but I may be rethinking that, at least at this dealership. More
