Dear Ms. Campbell, My name is Chris Dessureau I am the general sales manager for Freedom Nissan. I was unhappy to hear of about your feelings of your experience at Freedom Nissan. The sales professional are trained to attempt to find vehicles that matched up with your wants and needs. They are also required to continue showing you vehicles until you find one that interest you and that you desire to purchase. Clearly our desire is to find the right for the customer so they have the best driving experience possible. From what I understand it was not easy to find conventional financing for you do to your personal situation. You wanted to trade in a 2011 Dodge Avenger which you had only purchased a year earlier. Due to your situation and that you over $7,600 more than the value of the vehicle and it unfortunately took time to find financing which would accommodate you. The dealership negotiated with numerous financial institutions in an attempt to get you financing. Once we presented you with a financing package, you chose to renegotiate the terms of the sale and then it took a while before we reached a new agreement. We tried to present you with the best option, we truly do for all of our clients. I’m sorry you felt it was not adequate, but considering the financial position it was the best that could be done, and the choice was your s to make whether or not you wanted to proceed with the transaction.

When you expressed your dissatisfaction to the owner of the dealership because there were not rear speakers in the car, he sent you a good will check for $200 to cover cost of installing your own speakers. When you saw another Altima advertised that was slightly upgraded from the one you purchased you requested that we exchange vehicles without you paying any additional costs for the upgraded car. Obviously that is not possible. Your satisifaction as a Freedom Nissan customer is important to us and thus I would like to offer you some additional good will. Please contact me directly as soon as possible so we can discuss satisfactorily resolve this matter. We would also request that you remove your comments from DealerRater and any other similar websites concerning our business. Chris (802)864-7400

Chris, you mentioned that the car came standard with 4 speakers my question is what happened to the other two? The only issue with my financial situation is that I wanted a certain payment and yes some banks would not finance due to the amount of negative equity. What would the good will from Nissan be?

One additional thing, I have had the truck for three weeks now, and just had to replace the rear brakes (pads and rotors). I called Freedom Nissan and was told there was nothing they could do for me to help fix this - and that the truck passed all Vermont Inspection points. Apparently Vermont doesn't have any inspection rules for brakes, because the pads were completely gone when I just took them off, and the rotors were completely junk. Three weeks after I purchased it...there is no way I wore off enough pad on the brakes that it should have passed an inspection three weeks ago - these guys are dirty.

My Dealership participates in the DealerRater Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and through this program we have the opportunity to work with you to resolve any issues with your experience at our dealership. It is apparent you are not happy with your experience and we wish we could make you as Happy as most of our customers. The fact you drove four hours to purchase a vehicle at our delaership means you were definitely aware we had the best deal or else you would have not made the trip. The only reason you gave us a bad review is you were trying to extort us for additional work on the truck. Becasue we had said no you chose to give us a bad review. Freedom Nissan stands behind our vehicles and we do go through extensive Used Car Evaluatuion Checklists before being placed for sale.

My mechanic said he would have reported you to the Maine DOT if you had inspected the vehicle in this state due to the condition of the brakes that I had to fix three weeks after purchasing it. I called Pat Reilly three times (windshield, body work, brakes) with my concerns and was told that Freedom would do nothing about it. Berlin City Nissan in Portland couldn't believe that you would not fix the body work that was still covered under warranty. I hardly think that anyone would believe I was trying to extort you for anything. Also, based on my review, the bad rating was also due to the fact that we had to sit there for hours on end which was terrible customer service that I have never experienced anywhere. I'm sure your smug comment was partially trying to cover yourself and make me look like some kind of scam artist, but in the end, I think people who read this will get a better understanding of your dealership than all of the "super, great, awesome" reviews that everyone else has written on here...maybe they were given better customer service...but I'm inclined to think it's probably just this biased website that you promote at your dealership.
