Fred Beans Subaru

I bought a CPO Subaru from Fred Beans a little less than a year ago, I knew it was used and would have some blemishes and minor scratches. The car has been reliable but upon closer inspection, it’s apparent a year ago, I knew it was used and would have some blemishes and minor scratches. The car has been reliable but upon closer inspection, it’s apparent that the car has had significant paint work that was never disclosed. The gas door has clearly been reattached poorly and will sometimes take a few pulls to open it. I since greased it and it seems ok. The passenger side taillight was not properly reinstalled but was easily fixed by unbolting it and reinstalling it properly. The car pretty much sat all winter as I have a truck to drive in inclement weather. Fast forward to this last March, after having to replace the battery I took it out and started to clean it up. This is when I noticed paint and clear coat flaking off the bumper. Upon closer inspection it was clear that the front bumper had been poorly repainted. I went to French Beans and talked to service and they told me it was something to take up with sales. I spoke with Danny who I believe is the used car manager. He asked if I had used any chemicals which other than soap and water and wax would be a no. I could see he wasn’t going to be of any help so I called SOA. Unfortunately because it appears to be a repair issue they would do nothing. As I stated before, I understand that buying a used car that I assume it will have some minor flaws. This was clearly a repair done before the car was sold to me. I owned the car less than 9 months and the front bumper paint is flaking off. I was shocked that Fred Beans will not stand behind a car they sold but I guess that’s a lesson learned. I will never buy another car from the Fred Beans dealerships again. More

I want to preface my comments by admitting that I do not tend to like car salesman in general. It’s nothing personal, it’s just they often tend to be extremely pushy and quite frankly—full of xxxx. He was extremely polite and professional and also very knowledgeable. He came across as genuinely interested in finding us the right car and not just selling us something. My family and I were very impressed and while we didn’t find quite what we were looking for this time—we will definitely keep Mike in mind for this and all future car purchases. More
