How does it take an entire 4 hours of diagnostic at $175/hour to determine a hybrid battery is bad? More

I apologize that you think the diagnostic time was excessive but there is a long list of components that Toyota has us check to make 100% sure we are diagnosing the vehicle correctly. With it being a very unusual fault code that was found in the vehicle, we wanted to make sure we did not miss anything. With that being said it was not just the hybrid battery that was the issue, The smart ECU and the auxiliary battery also failed which we would not have known unless we did the diagnostic correctly. The diagnostic fee should have actually been more due to the extent of the work it takes to cross everything off that the manufacturer requires to be checked. I apologize and we indeed made a mistake. We only had two of the tires and the other two were coming on a later truck. Our service writer and service tech had a miscommunication about what was paid for and what was to be installed. We def made a mistake and and it sound like we're picking up your car and dropping off a loaner and will return your car later that day with a full tank of gas and a $150 credit.
