When I visited the remarkable Toyota of Charleston Dealership on Hwy. 17 in Charleston in February 2011, I was there on a crucial mission. I needed to buy a four-wheel drive vehicle, FAST! My mom had died suddenly, leaving my elderly step-dad, alone, snowed-in, and in very poor health, in a remote rural area of the North Georgia Mountains. His life depended on me, being able to drive through ice and snow, to get to him quickly. With tears in my eyes, I walked through the door of Toyota of Charleston, hoping that I could afford a car that would enable me to rescue my stranded dad. I ha a modest amount of money to make the purchase, because I work in the education field. I worried about how long it would take me to transact a complicated purchase And I worried about whether or not a dealership on the coast, would even have a four-wheel drive vehicle for icy road condition, for sale! Miraculously,salesperson, Avon Bailey, Used Car Manager, Joey, Service manager, Heather Parker and Financial Manager, Chris Fitzgerald (along with receptionist Michele), helped me find the right car, for the right price..and all, within a few short days. The story has had a happy ending..because I drove successfully through terrible weather, to my step-dad, who is now safe. We are both more grateful to the wonderful staff at Toyota of Charleston than we can adequately express! Thank you! More
I purchased a truck from here and they failed to disclose that my truck had been in a serious accident. I found out about a month after the purchase that the truck was in a serious accident; vehicle was hit that my truck had been in a serious accident. Brent was VERY honest on the phone when I asked questions, and even went as far as taking extra pics to send me before I made the trip there to look at the truck for my son's Christmas. I had already got the run around with Dodgeland in Cola. with poor pics and a trip for nothing. No pressure sales is what got me, class act sales staff. Brent gave me time to talk with my wife on the phone alone and even to look at the truck alone as well. He even left late on his own vacation to finish the sale with me. This was the 12th truck I had looked at in less than 3 days and I knew if the pics were correct it was the one I wanted before making the trip. We are a Toyota family with 3 trucks now after just selling our 1995 T-100 which the 2004 Tacoma replaced for my son. My wife drives a 2007 4-Runner from James Irvin in Camden, and I drive a 2008 Tundra. My Tundra came from Toyota Center in West Cola. I'm glad I made the trip to Charleston, great truck and a great Christmas gift for my son. James Irvin had one I was looking at as well but they did NOT call me as I asked several times in emails....They just don't listen to the customer. Brent did. Thanks again Brent for a job well done. As a retired naval officer, 32 years, I tend to be very detailed and exacting in what I want in a new vehicle. After deciding that my new truck would be a black Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport model (double cab) w detailed and exacting in what I want in a new vehicle. After deciding that my new truck would be a black Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport model (double cab) with all the necessary "bells & whistles", including a cat-back dual exhaust system, I went to USAA to find the nearest dealer with the best price. The USAA recommendation was Toyota of Charleston, who then had Alex contact me by email, almost instantaneously. Alex then searched the southeast to locate my truck (in Lumberton,NC), dispatched a driver and had it in Charleston the next day. When this truck had options that exceeded my original, very good, quote, Alex discounted them to the dealer costs vice the MSRP. The cat-back dual exhaust system was then added at the dealership on a shared cost basis. Again at the dealer costs and with minimal labor costs. All in all, Alex gave honest, transparent service while ensuring that I got exactly what I wanted at the best price imaginable. As a retired Navy Captain, I must admit that this Marine is an outstanding salesman whose interest is totally in providing customer satisfaction, even if he has to forego his personal profit margin to take care of the customer. Yesterday, we had a very pleasant experience....buying a new car! The reason was the Sales person, Alex Jackson. If you are in the market for a new Toyota CALL ALEX at this dealership. We basically made a deal on the phone. I had previously test driven the Highlander and wanted the car but the previous dealer was totally into playing games and I could not get a firm quote from them by email. With Alex, over the telephone, he offered a very good price and a price range for my trade in which he had not seen. He followed up immediately with the quote in writing by email. I thought the overall deal was very good and I felt good enough about Alex's sincerity that I drove 2 hours to Toyota of Charleston. He did not disappoint! They did what they said they would do and we drove home with a beautiful 2011 Highlander. If you live within a few hours of Charleston and are going to buy a new Toyota, call Alex. More
