Kia Failed Engine after 4 YEARS! We bought a brand new Kia in April 2016. Four years later, the car would not start. We brought it to the Kia of Greenville Dealership for a diagnostic We bought a brand new Kia in April 2016. Four years later, the car would not start. We brought it to the Kia of Greenville Dealership for a diagnostic and were told that we needed a new engine to the tune of $6,000. The dealership suggested that we call Kia HQ's to see if we could get a new engine since the car, "should not have had that problem after only 4 years of use." A representative from Kia HQ's called us back with a decision that they would NOT replace the engine and that it was something that the service department told them to lead them to their decision. We had regular oil changes and had all the receipts, so I can't imagine what they would have told them--I'm thinking they didn't want us to get a new engine so we would buy a car from them?? The punch line: they made us pay the $130+ diagnostic fee! I spoke with the service manager to see if we could get the fee waived, then spoke with the GM of the dealership. He was talking in circles and stated that he would not be able to pay his service tech if we didn't pay the diagnostic fee (I'm fairly certain his tech's don't earn $130 for 10 mintues of work). He ended up hanging up on me. I have a call into the owner (who also owns Greer Nissan and Toyota) and am yet to get a call back. After considering out options, we decided to sell the 4 yr old Kia vehicle salvage and buy a new car as we were in need of a truck to do some camping and gardening projects. We enjoyed our Tacoma in the past so purchased one, but NOT FROM GREER TOYOTA. They lost a sale over a measly $130--the culture over their is not one of common sense I'm guessing. Satellite More
What a rip off, I was quoted $250 for oil change/maintenance and 1:30 time. Whatever they did was done at 3 and cost $433 I asked them to call my dad to clarify any services they didn’t. I supposedly got a complimentary car wash, but there’s visible bird poop on the side. my back windshield wiper blade is dangling they didn’t bother to mention that needs to be replaced. I drive very infrequently low mileage and excellent condition. I have taken to the dealership for all maintenance since I bought it. Very disappointed. More

I feel the dealership is great and the service dept.what I'm disappointed in is I talke my car in for a oil change and ask if they can look and tell me why my passenger and back window won't roll down.The l I'm disappointed in is I talke my car in for a oil change and ask if they can look and tell me why my passenger and back window won't roll down.The lady wrote up my invoice and then said There is a fee now of 139.95 for checking out issue with the car and if they find its a warranty issue you won't have to pay.well my car a 2011 so I don't think it would be under warranty and then I'm told my spark plugs needed replaced and my husband just replaced them.so now I'm thinking Kia is trying to rip me off.Kia has always been good to me but to want that much to just tell me whats wrong is crazy.This is my 2 Kia and have loved the cars but I may rethink when I trade in this year. More

If not for April Calvert, my service advisor, this visit would not have happened. My previous few visits were problematic. April took the time to listen to my concerns and took steps to address them. The service technician for this visit also contributed to restoring my confidence in using this location for routine maintenance. More
Great! I scheduled an appointment on Saturday for the following Tuesday. My appointment was for 8:00 AM. I called April to let her know I would be a little late because I needed to take my granddaughter to school that morning. She told me "that's fine, we will be here waiting for you." When I arrived, it only took a few minutes to check in. She let Earl in Transport know that I needed a ride to work.. He had about 3 other people but it didn't take long for me to get to work. April called to notify me when my car was ready. It was about the same time she had promised.. I never had to call her. She is very efficient. She told me that Earl would pick me up shortly. When I got back to the dealership, April had everything ready and it only took a few minutes. The floor of the front seats had paper mats down and my car was washed! Everything was great when it came to my visit in regards to my advisor. The waiting room is nice but it would be nice if the service department offered Krispy Kreme doughnuts or homemade cookies.
