What began with a simple check engine light appearing on our daughter’s 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid dash one evening, by the next morning became a $3000 major repair problem. Having purchased the pre-owned Honda, from Frank Leta, three years ago, with an extended warranty, which is still in-force, we had hoped for some help with the repair. The needed part, which Honda calls an emissions component, is the IMA Battery, which runs the hybrid’s electric motor. The warranty company declined payment of the claim, stating batteries are excluded from the coverage. Recently graduated from college, working for low wages, paying school loans and still living at home, our daughter, Lauren, is not in the position to pay such a major repair. It is only through the intersession of Marco and Frank Leta team’s willingness to help, that by the afternoon, we were informed Honda and the warranty company, would be covering the entire cost of the repair! These are the kind of ethics, are what are missing in so many companies these days . But at Frank Leta they stand behind their word and put the needs of the customer first. We wish to thank Frank Leta Honda, the amazing Leta Team and AUL, for helping our daughter resolve this issue! She still loves her Honda and we know where to shop for our next vehicle. Truly, thank you all! We now really understand what the advertising means when it says, “You can’t beat a Leta Honda” It should also say ......"We stand behind out customers with our full support." thank you again! I bought a new Honda Odyssey from Frank Leta Honda in October 2012 after my old Honda was totaled in an accident. Due to delays with the two insurance companies and Honda finance with the gap insurance, the matter was not completed until January 2013. I spoke to Honda Financial many times during this time and they told me there was no record of the new vehicle so there were no payments due. If there were back payments due once the paperwork was complete, they assured me that they would differ them to the end of the loan term. So my wife and I used the money to pay medical bills relating to my Parkinson's disease. Now comes the strange part. At the beginning of February 2013, I was contacted by Kevin Shultz at Frank Leta Honda, who informed me the paperwork was complete and I owed them $1,390.24. When I inquired about the money they claimed I owe them, I was told they made two payments on the vehicle and now I owed them the money. I tried to explain that Honda had agreed to defer the payments and I don't have the money as it was spent on medical bills, but Frank Leta continued to insist they need the money and have threatened legal action. I don't understand how they can do this without my permission or knowledge of them making the payments. More
Jay Cox was low key and professional from the time we met him on the lot till the time he told us we had a deal. Jay worked with my daughter to insure that she had the car that best fit her desires and the him on the lot till the time he told us we had a deal. Jay worked with my daughter to insure that she had the car that best fit her desires and the price we had in mind. It was a pleasant experience from start to finish and not at any time was there any pressure to buy anything. I was very impressed with the way he spoke to my teenage daughter as an adult and answered all of her questions as well as mine. I would heartily recommend Jay and Frank Leta to all of my friends and associates. Go see Jay if you are shopping for a car. Steve Westerhouse More

• I found a certified 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid for sale online at Frank Leta Honda O’fallon, Misouri. • I called to get information on it. I asked for the condition and if it had been previously damaged. online at Frank Leta Honda O’fallon, Misouri. • I called to get information on it. I asked for the condition and if it had been previously damaged. They told me it was very well cared for and clean. Great condition. I asked about the features including heated seats, leather seats, navigation, Bluetooth and steering wheel controls. They told me it had all of these. • I asked about trade-in value for my car. • After giving them the VIN and other information they quoted me $8000 trade-in value. Based on this number, I decided to trade-in. • I decided I wanted to get the car but couldn’t make the 5 hour drive for a week. • They told me I needed to put down a $500 deposit that could be applied to my down payment. • I made the deposit. • I drove to O’Fallon, Missouri from Overland Park, Kansas to pick up the car in July 2012. • I waited 1 hour to begin my transaction because no one could wait on me except my sales guy (according to them) and he was “running late.” • They showed me the car in a showroom that had the lights off… very dark and hard to see any flaws. I got in to check out the features and found out there were actually NO heated seats. Remember they had told me there were. When I asked about it, the salesman got defensive and argued that he never told me there were heated seats… he did. • After evaluating my car they offered me $7000 trade-in. I said no and they said the highest they could go was $7250. • I felt trapped because I had already given a $500 deposit and driven the 5 hour drive to get there, so I had to go ahead and agree to $7250. I felt completely taken advantage of. • The salesman also told me (after I had already made a deposit and driven so far) that the leather, nav, Bluetooth and steering wheel controls were all after market. He neglected to tell me that when I was asking all my questions before making my deposit. • After leaving the lot, I realized they had had a paper sign over a major flaw in the rear window’s tint. They also had parked the car in a way where the side I was seeing was not the one with major, deep scratches on the rear bumper. I also realized there were dents on the hood. These are things they easily could have fixed themselves but didn’t bother to. I also feel like a Honda Certified car should have been free of these simple-to-fix cosmetic flaws. • In my first two weeks of owning the car I was getting ridiculously low gas mileage. It was supposed to get 40mpg city and 45mpg highway. I was averaging 30 and each day it seemed to drop. • I called Frank Leta wanting to return it because I was so unhappy. They refused and told me I needed to take it to a local dealership to determine why it was getting such low gas mileage. • I took it in the next Monday and they called to tell me that the battery engine was severely corroded. • O’Neil Honda told me that my Honda Certified warranty covered this replacement. Normally I would be happy about that except for the fact that the salesman at the dealership I purchased the car at (Frank Leta) told me that if I wanted the battery engine covered, I had to purchase this really expensive extended warranty plan, so I did. Now I’m feeling like that was just a huge waste of money, and I didn’t even neeed it. • After all these headaches, I felt entitled to some sort of refund. I would have liked to just return the car but Frank Leta refused. I called them and spoke to a general manager. He said he would pass my information along to another person to determine what to do and he would call me back. • Another Frank Leta manager called me and I had to go through my story all over again. He said he would talk to another manager and get back to me. Two weeks went by with no call. I called them back and had to explain my whole story again to another manager. He said he would check with someone else and call me back. I called them back again and had to explain my whole story again. He asked for me to fax him the information that my local dealership (O’Neil Honda) had provided me with showing that the battery was corroded. I faxed him the paperwork. I never heard back from him. I called him several weeks later about it and he said he would send me a couple gas cards. I said that was not good enough and he said he would see what he could do. I never heard from him again. I called and left him a voicemail. He stopped returning or taking my calls. • I couldn’t believe that Frank Leta had sold me a “CERTIFIED” car with a corroded battery engine, lots of cosmetic damage, after market interiors and technology, and a previous wreck (found this out after purchasing as well… guess they “forgot” to mention that when I was asking about the car’s condition and history before I made my deposit). I had a great experience with the sales consultant; they were very friendly, the price on the used vehicle was fair, and their financing department found a rate that beat my bank. The finance department was were very friendly, the price on the used vehicle was fair, and their financing department found a rate that beat my bank. The finance department was a bit pushy, though. They tried to present my payment with a warranty and gap insurance already included. I noticed immediately that the payment was considerably higher than it should've been and THEN they discussed the extra warranty and gap insurance. They were willing to take these off at my request, but I felt as if they were trying to slide it past me hoping I wouldn't know any better. This is the only reason I rated the dealership a 4 rather than 5. More
I am a long time Honda loyal customer. My first Honda was a 1979 Civic. I decided to buy my wife and daughter new Honda's for Christmas. Because I was buying two new cars, I shopped it online to all of the Honda dealers in the area. I decided that I was going to buy from the dealer who made me the best offer. Todd Albrecht offered me a decent deal that was in the ballpark with a few others but wasn't the best. I brought my daughter in to test drive the Civic on Saturday. I met with Jay Cox and I asked him if he could beat the best offer. He said if we can, will you buy the cars today? I said yes. Offer was close so I made the deal with Jay and bought both cars, a 2013 CRV EX and a 2012 Civic LX. Jay did spent a lot of time with us on Saturday completing the deal and paperwork. I really appreciate all of the time he spent with me and my wife and showing us all of the functions on the vehicles. Even showing my wife how to set up her bluetooth phone. Love the cars. Can't wait to buy another one. Very satisfied. David Ulrich More

I had some reservations on purchasing a vehicle at this time because of being unemployeed for the past few months. But, Chris understood my situation and woked with me over several days untilI felt comfortable with making a puchase decision. Even though I took several days to decide on a vehicle, Chris did not presure me or make me feel like I was wasting his time. He was always honest and went out of his way to ensure I was completly satisfied with each aspect of my buying experience. I would and have recomended Fran Leta Honda and in particula Chris to my friends and family. Thanks Chris. Ken More
My wife and I were looking for a new car. Had been shopping all week. We had bought a car from Meghan before at another dealership. Loved dealing with her before. We couldn't however remember where sh shopping all week. We had bought a car from Meghan before at another dealership. Loved dealing with her before. We couldn't however remember where she had gone. We were actually working a deal on another car at another dealeship when we finally remembered where she was. We left the table and called Meghan at Frank Leta Honda. Calling Meghan was the best thing we could have done. We have owned gas guzzlers since we have been married. Love having all of the room. But, we knew we needed something good on gas and still family friendly. Meghan knew exactly what we wanted and what we were looking for. Meghan listened to everything wanted. By the time we got there saturday she had several cars for us to choose from. We had planned on shopping all day but when we meet with Meghan realized no need to do so. Everything we perfect. From the moment we got there, Meghan gave us a tour of the facility, introduced us to alot of the support staff, and explained the overall Frank Leta Mission. We love our new Honda Accord. We couldn't have asked for a better car. When we got to financing everthing was exactly as she said it would be. No bait and switch xx that my wife and I have experienced before at other places. Really just an overall great experience. My wife and I have never considered a Honda and are glad we did. Also, glad we dealt with Meghan. She really helped make all of the difference. Already referred someone to her and they bought a Honda Accord from her also and are just as pleased as we are. Anyone considering buying a new or used car I strongly suggest going to Frank Leta Honda and ask for Meghan Estes. My wife and I are Honda fans for life. We are already planning on buying a Honda Pilot for my wife. And we will of course buy from Meghan. A big thanks to Frank Leta for all of the great service and HUGE thanks to Meghan for making this car buying experience a great one. More
