Things went well at first--very friendly and the price of our car was fair. Then, finance person made a few snafus on paperwork. A very frustrating experience overall--and we paid cash, so there was no chance for a title company to have messed up. More
We bought a new 2009 Honda Accord in spring 2010 from Leta. We loved our previous Accord from Ed Napleton. Too bad 2009 Accords have HORRIBLE brakes. Not just pad, no the rotors need to be turned all the time too. There are class action lawsuits for these horrible brakes, but the services department at Leta denies this and will say they have no idea why our Accord brakes need to be.changed every other oil change almost. My wife hates the experience going to Leta. They are not reponsible for a poor Honda design, but they are responsible for denying it and making the customer feel it is a result of what they did. Look at a Consumer Reports if you are a service manager. Be knowledgeable.. You'll see these brakes are rated BLACK, for MUCH WORSE THAN NORMAL. That is NOT the customers responsibility. Maybe Honda has a bad design, don't follow it up with poor customer service. It's easy to have great service with a great design that requires no repairs. Customer services starts when a problem comes up. Just admit it rather than blame the customer or act like you don't know this. The service manager even said it could be because we park the vehicle outside! We've always garaged the vehicle, but this was just poor customer service to say. That's our experience....unfortunately. This experience just repeats itself every few months the next time the brakes go bad. They never have been fixed correctly. You pay more for a Honda hoping for a better experience. Having purchased many cars from many dealers, this is the only bad experience ever. Buying a car here did not meet our expectations. Hopefully they improve and realize when you do this to one customer, that customer tells their friends and you lose more than one future sale. You are still disappointed years later, so poor customer service really costs a business more than just resolving the issue. Seeing the ratings on this site, we are not the only ones who have concerns with this dealer. Leta looks to be the lowest Honda dealer in the area. Maybe they would do better making it right like Dave Sinclair used to say. More
The service I received from the sales rep - OUTSTANDING! This is my second time here and I will continue to buy from them. First off I want to talk about how awesome my salesman is. His name is Tom Mcmahon and I reccommend everyone to buy this guy. Based on the needs of our growing family, we decided to look into buying a minivan. After researching them, we decided on the Honda Odyssey. We first visited another local Honda dealership & after waiting 15 minutes without even being greeted, we left. The experience at Frank Leta Honda was at the top of our car buying experiences. Mostly that is due to the great salesman we worked with, Jason Groeller. He wasn't pushy, was very knowledgeable about the vehicle, & seemed genuine about finding us the right vehicle. Even after the purchase, Jason insisted that my wife come back when convenient for her so that he could go over all of the features of the new van. He spent about an hour setting up the bluetooth, the lock settings,etc, & making sure to answer all of her questions. We recommend Frank Leta Honda & especially working with Jason. Mike H. Keith Kamp did an excellent job in listening to my needs and quickly finding vehicles that met my requirements. He prepped vehicles while my son and I test drove the cars and had the next car waiting for us and quickly finding vehicles that met my requirements. He prepped vehicles while my son and I test drove the cars and had the next car waiting for us upon return... warmed up and pulled up front ready to go. It was early February and really cold. After driving several vehicles we selected our car. The car we liked had some vibration in the steering wheel and Keith was quick to get a technician's evaluation of the problem. Before long the car was ready to go and the vibration in the steering wheel was fixed (resulting from low/uneven tire pressure). During the sale Keith was upfront and strait on every aspect of the process. He was quick to take our counter offer to the sales manager and he processed the paperwork quickly. After the sale Keith was very good about following up with me to make sure everything was going well and the car was running as expected. He also made sure our license paperwork was sent out quickly. In fact, he did a little of the follow-up while at home with the flu. How's that for customer service? I certainly didn't expect him to work while he was ill, but he did. A few words about Nick Dubrouillet. Nick wasn't my sales associate but he was called in to help when I asked about getting an iPhone adapter for the car. Nick connected me with Tanner at Custom Sounds and the two of them took great care of me and for a really fair price. Another quick plug... if you need any stereo or speaker work for your car, see Tanner at CustomSounds in South County. Last, Gus handled my financing and paperwork like a pro. No pressure, no over the top up-selling, just a very strait forward and courteous approach. Car shopping can be kind of stressful, that wasn't the case for me at all at Frank Leta. I will absolutely go back for future automotive needs. More
