We always offer to "read a code" for free, just like any generic auto parts store. A check engine light code will help identify the system that is causing the fault, but it does not identify a specific part. A diagnosis is afar more involved process. In order to identify what is causing the code a Certified Technician uses an advanced computer and tools to narrow down the fault to a specific part, and then tests and verifies that the part is the cause of the problem. At that time we can have a professional discussion with our customer and assist with the recommended course of action. W e're sorry if you feel this is not what was asked of us.
