Buyer Beware ! Do NOT buy from Bob Rohrman Fort Wayne Nissan/Infiniti, however, do buy a Nissan because the car is fantastic. I recently decided that I wanted ! Do NOT buy from Bob Rohrman Fort Wayne Nissan/Infiniti, however, do buy a Nissan because the car is fantastic. I recently decided that I wanted a Nissan Kicks after driving one that I rented to drive back and forth from D.C. to Ohio. When I was browsing online, I found a 2019 Nissan kicks and fell in love with the color. I texted the dealership through the app, and the customer service was terrific, at first. I asked if the car had leather interior, the person I was texting said no, all were cloth. Then about 30 minutes later, he texted and said it was his mistake. The car that I wanted did have a leather interior. I knew I wanted the car at this point, and the price was not too bad for all the upgrades that came with the vehicle. I worked via text and email with the finance manager (Matthew); he even texted me on his day off. I knew I would need a co-signer because I am a product of the student loan crisis. My co-signer and I filled out the finance application. Matthew texted and said, we have great new; we think you'll be happy! Matthew and I negotiated via text, and I told Matthew I would put $5000.00 down and asked him to come down to $20k, which I knew was not feasible, but I wanted to go low. We finally agreed I would put down $5500.00, and he would drop the total price of the car to 21,500.00. I was so excited! I had to put a $500.00 deposit down for them to hold my car until the following week. I started to question Matthew about what bank he financed us through and what the interest rate was. He kept replying; we can beat anyone's interest rate. I kept asking for details on the bank and interest rate, but would never get a response. I figured they knew what they were doing, and I would find out when I went into the dealership. However, I needed to get new insurance before I could drive the car home. When getting the new insurance, the agent who helped me filled me in on a lot of gaps and said I needed to know the bank name before she could give me the insurance. I texted Matthew and told him I had to have the bank name for insurance purposes, he finally texted me back and said Ally Bank. I then asked for my interest rate, and he said he wouldn't know that until I came in. My insurance agent then told me about how they do financing and said she could do an app and told me what my interest rate would be. It was not a "great" interest rate, but it was not a bad one either. After I did a lot of searching on Ally Bank and the issues customers had with them and found most reviews to be 1-star reviews, I got concerned. I shared my concerns with Matthew, the finance manager, about the bank and lack of interest rates, he said, "don't worry, we have a lot of contacts." I then researched why dealerships want to finance your purchase through them. Besides loads of kickbacks, they also can adjust the selling price. Most people don't notice because they are so excited to drive off in their car! I told Matthew I would not be financing with them and would bring a check for 21,500. Then everything changed. I was questioned why I would not finance through them, and then the prices started to change. Matthew said, "we are not letting the car leave the door for $21,500.00. I was confused and asked for clarification. But I was met with resistance. He told me taxes, etc. were not taken into account. I kept trying to get a number so my bank could write a check to them, but he would not get a total price, he kept saying you need to finance through us, we get you the lowest interest rate. I finally said I do not feel comfortable financing through you; I am coming to get the car tomorrow, please give me a number. The new price was roughly $24,000.00. However, I wanted this car. I knew it was a good deal. I was not happy that $21,500.00 went to $24,000.00, but no other dealership had the car I wanted around that price. I was no longer getting the excellent customer service I experienced at the start, but was made to feel like a "problem." I just wanted to get my car and be done. The day came to go pick up my car. I had the check in hand, but I would not be handing that over until everything was complete. The car salesman was kind enough, but you could tell he was doing five things at once. He let me test drive the car, and I knew I had to have it. We went back into his office, and he pulled out a paper with the price that was nowhere near what I was told via text. All the promotions and "deals" were no longer there. I showed the car dealer the text between Matthew and myself with the exact price I was told the car would cost with "everything." He also said that my $500.00 deposit would not go towards the overall cost. I said okay, then I am leaving. He asked me to wait, and he went and talked to his finance manager, Matthew was not there, and came back and said I am sorry, yes that is the price, you are correct. I was now aggravated but wanted the Nissan Kicks. So we waited while the car dealer filled out forms and took care of other clients in-between forms. I was then handed over to another nice finance guy (Dom), but at this point, I was tired, hungry, and we were going on almost 3 hours at the dealer by this time. The first thing the finance guy asked was, why won't you finance through us. I rolled my eyes and said I don't trust you at this point. He pulled out a stack of papers that I had to sign. I started to get impatient, and then the finance guy started aggravated as well. He then tried to sell me an additional warranty but told me, "don't worry, and we will underwrite that here and finance that for you." I said, "are you seriously trying to sell me something right now, let's hurry this up I have been here too long." You could tell the rest of this meeting was not going to be pleasant. The new finance guy started to do "numbers" and gave me a different price. I said, "I have a check for this much; that is what I was told after I begged to get this price. If the car cannot be sold for this amount, then I am leaving". He said, "oh, you're right; that is the correct number." I signed all his papers, went to the cashier to give her the check, got my receipt, and finally left! I had the car of my dreams but was disappointed at what I just went through. I drove the car back home, and I knew to go through all that was worth it! The next afternoon I was has a voice mail from Dom telling me to give me a callback, he had a question for me. I called Dom back within the hour, and he said to me that he calculated the price wrong, and I did not sign a paper that needed to be signed. I said, "you've got to be xxxxting me right now." He just laughed and said, "no." You owe this amount, and you have to sign the paper since you had us search for financing for you. I said I am not paying you anything and I am not endorsing anything else. Dom then said, "Then we are coming to get your car." I told him to let me talk to his manager, and he said he was the manager. I told him someone with his competence level is not a manager, and I want his boss on the phone now. He transferred me. I got the finance director on the phone and gave him a 10-minute lecture on how awful this experience has been. He said he would waive the additional money owed ($43.00), and he would email me the paper I needed to sign, and this would be all I needed to do. I gave him my email and hung up. I then called my lawyer to ask him why I needed to sign this paper, and he said he has never heard of such a request, however, if they could send over the clause in the contract that states I must sign, or the dealership can repossess my car, then I should sign it. I called back the director and asked if he could fax over the form instead to a number. He said yes, and took the number down, and he said I could email it back. I told him I would after I had my lawyer read it. He then refused to send me the form and said he was "trying to help" why did I get legal involved and this is out of his hands now, and he would need to talk to his general manager." I said, "okay, I will wait for the form." I then received an email from Matthew, who said I was hostile. I explained in my reply that I was not hostile; I was assertive because I was threatened with repossession of my car. I went on to tell him if he would send the form and the clause in the contract stating I must sign this paper I would be glad to after my lawyer read it. I have not heard from them since. However, I did receive a voice mail four days later from the service department thanking me for letting them service my car and to see if the changes they made were to my satisfaction. I never had service from their auto service department. Now the dilemma is where I will take my new Nissan Kicks to be serviced. I will not return to Bob Rothman Fort Nissan/Infiniti every again. I hope another dealer will understand my plight and take me in. More

I came to jpah at fort Wayne nissian and worked hard to get me the payment that I wanted and to make sure After talking with a few other dealerahips. I came to jpah at fort Wayne nissian and worked hard to get me the payment that I wanted and to make sure I was well taken care of while waiting. They found mileage discrepancy with the car I wanted and the bank in turn denied the load. He found another car " the same" but newer and in better condition then the other and got them to get me the same payments and new tires. More
