He found the car for us in Columbia and it was delivered that afternoon. Couldn't be more pleased. Went back a few days later for more technical instructions. He was thorough and patient. Not the best experience I originally went to Hyundai because I received an email from Marc Williams. He wanted to schedule an appointment to have my wife and I come in and tr I originally went to Hyundai because I received an email from Marc Williams. He wanted to schedule an appointment to have my wife and I come in and trade in my 2015 Sante Fe Sport and upgrade to a new vehicle at in his words "keeping your payments about the same". So we scheduled an appointment for 12:30 that Friday. I got a phone call Friday morning around 10am confirming the appointment time. I answered the call and confirmed the appointment. I show up at 12:30 with my wife and 1 year old son in a stroller. We stood around for a while, while the front desk associate paged Marc over and over again. Someone else ultimately went to his office to let him know we were there and then finally after being paged again he came storming out of his office, yelling across the show room "I'M WITH A CUSTOMER". He came over, now about 30 minutes late and said he was with someone else but would check on us in 30 minutes to an hour when he was done. We were about to leave when another sales associate started helping us. This was already frustrating considering his first questions were "what can I help you with?". All I was thinking was that we got out of work early because of an appointment your dealership wanted to schedule, I have my 1 year old baby with me, and now I'm starting from square one with someone who doesn't even know the purpose of the reason for my visit. Anyway, he took over from here as our salesman and so my wife and I decided to stick around because I have had good experiences in the past with Hyundai so I wanted to give them more time to redeem themselves. Mack was our new sales guy and he was asking me questions like "how much can you put down today" "what kind of payments are you looking for" etc. Because I made it clear we were going to get a hyundai sante fe sport at about the same payments as where we were at, but I would be willing to get an upgraded sante fe sport, I just couldn't put anything down. He was agreeable and showed me the upgraded package. He showed me and my wife the features and we were pleasantly happy with all of this. After going back to his office and sitting around for a longer period of time he comes back saying that if we put $1,500 down our payments would be $534/month (for the upgraded car). No mention of a sante fe sport car like our current trade in one. Keep in mind the only reason I originally showed up was to see a new car for about the same payments. I never got a price on this kinda car by the way.... Anyway, our current payments were $354/month and I told him that was way too high and we had already discussed I didn't/couldn't pay that much more a month and I already told him I couldn't put anything down...He asked me a second time after showing me the original offer. Again, I told him about the price I could pay and he left and came back later with another number, still $25 higher than what I said I could make. Before he left I even signed a piece of paper confirming I could make a certain payment. Finally, a manger came in and we ended up getting the upgraded car at a price we didn't really want to pay, but once again we didn't see the original cars price that got us in the dealership to begin with. OH, and we still haven't heard from Marc Williams at this point, even though he said he would check in on us. No apology from him earlier either, or acknowledgement that we had an appointment. Finally we were at the stage where we needed to go into finance and get that part taken care of....However, apparently one of the associates had to leave early and so there was only 1 guy working. Mack informed him that our stuff was already "loaded" whatever that meant, and we would only take a few minutes. So, after waiting another 30 min or so we went in and this guy was pissed off beyond all reason and made my wife, baby and I feel very uncomfortable so I told my wife to go walk around with the baby and to let me handle this part of the experience. He was grumpy, annoyed with mack, pissed off as his computer for not working. Basically, the complete opposite of what you would want anybody to act like when working with customers. Other than saying "please don't dock me on the review" there wasn't anything polite or friendly he said. Long story short, I went to Hyundai with an appointment, that appointment was ignored, my original offer of keeping payments the same was never even brought up, we were at Hyundai for about 4.5 hours, my baby missed his nap and was not a happy camper, which made the rest of our day bad....I was very upset with Hyundai for all of these reasons....To top it all off, I got 3 phone calls from Hyundai motor finance this past sunday saying that I was in default on my old vehicle that I traded into them 2 weeks ago. Apparently the paperwork hasn't been processed. and I was given a threat that if I didn't call the dealership and have them call hyundai motor finance, my credit score would be hit. This is now my 3rd car with Hyundai so I have been loyal, but at this point I don't know if I will continue to work with them going forward. More
