Everyone knows not to bring your car to the dealer for service, right? Well now we do too. Brought Lincoln MKS to dealer with flaky headlight issue, water had gotten inside headlight assembly and Chris in service, right? Well now we do too. Brought Lincoln MKS to dealer with flaky headlight issue, water had gotten inside headlight assembly and Chris in service insisted that only fix was to replace entire assembly, quoted cost of $3,300, not a typo, for headlight. Asked for component-level diagnosis, because there is a lot going on in those headlight assemblies and the entire thing was not necessarily bad. Chris insisted only the assembly replacement would work. I took it to another shop for component level diagnosis. Ended up buying a ballast off eBay for $62 and hour labor, the project was complete. Chris was supposedly the superstar mechanic... if that's the superstar, I can't imagine how expensive it would have been with a lesser mechanic. Will never go to this dealership again for any purpose. More
