Steer completely clear of this Ford dealership!!! Purchased a used 2015 Transit Connect with only 24K miles on it in April 2021 with a full extended warranty. Had a problem in the beginning of Sept Purchased a used 2015 Transit Connect with only 24K miles on it in April 2021 with a full extended warranty. Had a problem in the beginning of Sept (van at this point has an additional 1000 miles on it barely used since we got it) with what we thought was the antifreeze leaking only to find out it was from the a/c condenser. Took two weeks to get an appointment at their service department. Told to bring it in at 8am and they would call us. 5 hours later no call, so followed up with them, told service rep out to lunch and would get back to us within 20-50 minutes. Almost 2 hours later and no call, we called again and was advised they hadn't looked at it yet. Approx 4:30pm they called and told us that there was a dead bird which had to be there for a long time since it was basically a skeleton had damaged the condenser and that was not then covered under warranty. So a dead bird that had to be there for a while to be so decomposed was the problem. Ummm if that was the case, why did the vehicle not leak until beginning of Sept?? A bird doesn't decompose to a skeleton in just a matter of two weeks so it is obvious this bird has been there for a long time and if it was the bird that damaged the condenser why didn't it leak when the bird hit it??? Told their service department the following morning at 8:05am to put the van banck together ad not do the repair since they weren't covering it and we would be there early afternoon to get it. Arrived around 1pm and the van wasn't even at their service department location but across the street at Lincoln Mercury. Took over 2 1/2 hour to bring the van back around...WTH why wasn't the van put back together and over at Smithtown Ford by early afternoon like requested?? Anyway took the van to our mechanic two days later for the repair and when we went to pick it up that same day, our mechanic of over 40 years comes out with the old condenser and clearly states that this wasn't damaged by a bird, there is no sign anywhere on either side of the condenser showing any impact from a bird. He advised us to go right back to Smithtown Ford with the old condenser and make them prove to us the damage was done by a bird, but rather a defective condenser!!! Did exactly that and was told by Chris the service manager, we found the dead bird there and when asked to show us on the condenser where the impact marks where that caused the so-called damage, he replied, I don't have eyes that can see microscopic holes. So again he had no way of proving the damage was done by the bird and secondly we purchased the car in April with no problems of anything leaking until the beginning of Sept. A bird doesn't decompose to a skeleton in a matter of a few weeks and even Joe the service rep stated "its apparent that the bird had been there for a LONG time to be in that condition. A long time would equate to more than 2 weeks. We said if you could prove to us this was damaged by a bird, we would walk away and say oh well, not covered our problem, but they can't. Chris stated that he couldn't cover the repair since if Ford requested the part back and they could prove it was damaged by a bird, they wouldn't get paid. So here they have no proof what caused the damage and wouldn't do the repair under the warranty. Called Ford Customer Service put in a complaint which was useless and told since we had the repair done already by our mechanic, there was nothing they could do. If we brought it to another Ford service department at another Ford dealer they more than likely would've done the repair under the warranty. So instead of Smithtown Ford telling us if we wanted to take it to another ford service center for a second opinion they said nothing!!!!! Horrible customer service and then Gerry in the sales department was totally rude, and disrespectful, telling us to never come back there to buy a car and we can leave when explaining to him how this whole thing didn't add up and no one in their service department could show us any damage caused by a bird to the condenser. So all in all buyer beware and if you buy a vehicle from them, bring it to a different service center for service!!! More

When I went in for service the first thing they did was reschedule me for issues I was having, and only did an oil change. I was also supposed to get my first three oil changes for free but was told by t reschedule me for issues I was having, and only did an oil change. I was also supposed to get my first three oil changes for free but was told by two separate people that the dealer isn’t honoring that because the price of oil went up. I started to argue with them but they basically had a we don’t care attitude, telling me I was wasting my breath. After that experience I still have to go back next month and get the actual issues I went in for looked at, hopefully they feel like working that day. More
DO NOT BELIEVE FOR A SECOND THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS IN ANY WAY GOOD OR HELPFUL !! IF U HAVE A REAL PROBLEM, THEY WILL MAKE U WAIT MONTHS FOR A LOANER, THEN GIVE U THE RUNAROUND TILL YOUR WARANTEE RU IS IN ANY WAY GOOD OR HELPFUL !!
