I apologize for your interpretation of this deal. After interviewing every person from Fontana Nissan who was involved, our understanding is this: 1. Our manager agreed with you on a very fair price, including all-weather floor mats. 2. We sent a salesperson to Bakersfield (5 hour round trip) to dealer trade for the vehicle you chose 3. You arrived at our store with several others and confirmed some numbers. Then a short time later, you approached me personally and said that you just received a call, and had to leave because of an emergency 4. You called me back a short time later, personally, and let me know you had purchased elsewhere. I was surprised, actually shocked, because we had agreed on the deal, or would not have travelled 100 miles each way to retrieve the exact vehicle you specified. I told the salespeople and managers involved, asking what had gone wrong, demanding an answer. No one knew why….they were all at a loss for words. We had performed to our end of the agreement, and gone out of our way---out of the COUNTY---to obtain the correct vehicle, all at a very fair price, all on a “handshake”. We had not even asked for a deposit A short time after that call from you, another local dealer called us in an attempt to dealer trade from us the exact vehicle from us that we had obtained for you, as there was only one in the state Once the deal was lost, and we had investigated the ordeal to the very end, that evening the owner decided he might put the vehicle into demo service for his wife. So we would not have a $54K Armada sitting on our flooring line. We do try to learn from every situation at our store. We strive to do our best, and this time we did...right up until we lost the sale. We still wonder how this could have happened. Frank Bachman General Manager

I apologize for the situation. As hard as we all try here at Fontana, on occasion we have a mix-up. After interviewing all involved, we’ve determined this situation was a miscommunication when Barry (first manager) let Syed take over with the negotiations. Every other dealer within 50 miles of Fontana Nissan marks their new cars UP over the factory sticker. We continue to choose not to participate in this practice. However, we have offered to rectify your situation with an additional discount of $450, plus a two year maintenance program, complimentary, at no charge to you. This maintenance package is good at any Nissan dealership in the U.S. or Canada. But, if you are convinced you can obtain a better deal elsewhere, we will take the car back, and unwind the deal, returning all monies exchanged. That is a fair offer; it is to make you whole and buy peace for you and Fontana Nissan. If you take our offer of the additional $450 off the original price, plus or addition of a complimentary maintenance package, we would be glad to continue to serve you as our customer. Either of these offers is valid for 10 days from this response. We truly want you to be happy.
