Lacking Transparency Using Greasy Tactics Just picked up a used CR-V from this dealership and hoping to help some people out by posting the details of my experience here. I worked with James T Just picked up a used CR-V from this dealership and hoping to help some people out by posting the details of my experience here. I worked with James Trenner. He was helpful and friendly and the reason for the second star. But that is where the positive aspect of the experience ends.I made an offer (a little below NADA clean retail) and Jim came back with a number $300 higher, then $100 higher. As I justified my offer due to the car needing new tires soon, the sales manager (can't recall his name) began to quibble over $50 and suggested we split the $100 difference. This is when things got awkward. I've bought and sold A LOT of vehicles over the years and never had someone go after $50 so hard. I agreed, but remarked this was not a winning strategy on the survey sheet provided to me. No big deal. Then things got interesting. When they filled out the offer sheet, there were 2 fees listed that would determine the OTD price: $80 doc fee and ~$350 for REGISTRATION (I assumed it must not have been recently renewed). I thought this was all pretty straight forward, so I didn't look the numbers over closely, nor did the finance manager go over them specifically. When I was getting in the car, I realized the registration was good until August 2020. So I assumed that meant the registration fees would not have been charged - NOPE! Instead they chewed up that number with a $50 smog fee, $30 registration transfer fee, $15 registration transfer fee and $8.25 smog fee. What a sleazy tactic to weasel a few bucks out of your customers! I had come from a different dealership earlier (Kuni) and the difference in experience was night/day. I realize the vast majority of future customers will not see this review. But for those that do and still purchase a vehicle, don't let them add a bunch of bogus fees on your deal - hold them to what you agree to and don't let them get rid of the notes on the offer sheet! (I asked them for the notes and was told they are shredded every night for privacy reasons; in fact they wouldn't even give me a blank one to look over). For the dealership: I have to believe the goodwill generated by transparency has a higher value than your sleazy tactics to nickel and dime your customers. I regret not being more diligent when signing the final documents and wish I would have taken my business somewhere else. I did get a nice car, though. More

xxxx YOU, JIM! My husband & I went in to test drive a Palisade. Jim met us at the car. I asked about a Palisade. There were none in stock. He chatted a little and My husband & I went in to test drive a Palisade. Jim met us at the car. I asked about a Palisade. There were none in stock. He chatted a little and I told him I wasn't looking to buy. I told him a few things I liked about the Palisade and then he showed us a top of the link Santa Fe they got in that morning. We went back the net day and bought it. I ended up having to pay for my SECOND car registration this year. (xxxx YOU, JIM) but, he ended up saving us $20k because I WAS going to buy a palisade. We also made a new friend. Jim is personable, funny, straight forward and very likable. When we need to purchase again, we'll go to Jim. Thanks, Jim! More
