I have leased and purchased several cars prior to my experience with Fletcher Jones newport beach. I can tell you that this dealership is the WORST is every aspect and a nightmare. These idiots act as though they own the dealership and they are throwing the benz for free to a "to be treated well MB buyer". If you are knowledgeable about the cars/financing/leasing/rates and are looking for a good deal, DONT GO to these guys. They will try to rip you off on every chance and ONLY cater to rich fools who care nothing about money or the deal. Please make you buying experience better and look elsewhere, as you deserve to be treated well, and after all, you are getting a Mercedes Benz for heaven sake!!. More
I asked for a service 12000 miles after my warranty ended. I stated to the advisor Tony if there was alot wrong I would be buying a new car. After a $1200 service I was told another $6000 in repairs wa ended. I stated to the advisor Tony if there was alot wrong I would be buying a new car. I brought a photo in to show a few small drips after years of parking. They stated they had to steam clean the car and found these issues. I opened the hood looked underneath - nothing no steam clean. The service manager argued they had to steam clean it ! Unreal. Never again will I or my family shop here More

After that they started calling me almost every day (2-3 times some days). Finally I had conversation with an assistant sales manager, who assured that if I came back they would grant my offer. He told me that sales manager, Ho Kim was aware of the details and would be waiting for me to come next day. Next day I drove to FJ Mercedes of Fremont. Upon my arrival sales manager didn't even bother to meet with me. Through his sales associate he sent me a note: prior deal no more - new offer $200/month more; take it or leave. I wasted several hours to get there, and nobody even apologized. When we were leaving, sales associates rudely laughed and sales manager Ho Kim was in his offices watching this. I wrote a letter to their General Manager about false promises, and my experience with service and treatment of customers in his dealership. He ignored my letter, as well as my phone call. In my prior experience with BMW, Lexus management were always very serious about respect in working with the customer. But I have never experienced such disrespect and don't-care-about-you attitude as in Fletcher Jones Mercedes of Fremont CA. After the visit dealerships usually call asking about your service experience. Woud be nice to know if there is any headquaters that oversees FJ dealerships and that would be responsible to evaluate customer complaints? More
Fletcher Jones Mercedes Benz of Newport Beach, OC, California, is a JOKE. They are the reason as to why the rest of the country looks at the west coast with their noses up in the air. It is funny that this dealership assumes that who ever walks in there are ignorant customers. Let me preface the following in there defense. There are two types of clients who walk into this dealership. 1. “I make so much money; that I could care less what you charge, so just let me get this car now!” 2. “I really can’t afford this car but I’m trying to keep up with the Jones’.” On July 2, 2007, I was offered a great deal through a local dealer (not FJ). Because, they did not have the car of my choice, I left them a deposit to lock in the rates. Well someone didn’t do their job. I went to the dealer on July 6, 2007 (after the rates had changed) and obviously they could not honor those rates. I called Fletcher Jones in Newport and explained my situation. Nicole Smith who is an assistant to Chris Lanza, the General Sales Manager, told me she would run those numbers by Chris. She called within15 minutes and said, “I have good news for you, Chris looked at those numbers, and knows of the program you are referring to. He likes to earn your business and would like for you to come in.” I then asked her if they had my car in stock (color/ packages) and she said that they had over 150 E350’s. After doing some research on FJ, I soon became aware of their shady business practices. I called them back and explained I did not want to waist my time or theirs. I would come only if they had my car and would honor those rates. I was re-assured for the second time. As this was a Friday afternoon, I did not want to battle traffic and knew I was going to be busy for the weekend so I made my appointment with Chris Lanza (GSM) for Monday 10:30am. Monday morning, at 9:00am, Nicole called to reconfirm the appointment. I took this opportunity to ask her once again, if they a) had my car and b) were willing to honor my rates. I was offered the same response, “Chris has insured me that he is willing to beat your deal… we have your car… we are the largest dealership in the world… we do more numbers than anyone else…” When I got there at 10:35am, I had to wait for 15 minutes. Chris came by and indignantly greeted us. Told us, that a regular sales person would show us the car and then he would work out the numbers. As he is the GSM, I was fully aware of his responsibilities so I conceded to having a sales consultant locate the car. Soon I realized that the car I was promised was NOT there. Instead, they offered me a car at a higher MSRP in my least favorite color combo. After, I complained, Patrick (Sales Manager) came in. He admitted that he had no idea of the deal I was talking about. He further told me that the car (I didn’t even want) we were looking at, he could not discount. So this morning, I wasted my time much to my dismay and was offered nothing more than a FAKE apology from a guy who knew nothing of my deal. More
The old Bait & Switch, called twice in two days to confirm the CPO E500 was on the lot before I drive up from San Diego. Dina calls me and says come by. OK, he says let me check, BTW, we have a lot of other.... I interrupt rudely, look at him and say...Hey! one step at a time! Is the car here? The jerk comes back and says it was sold last Wed. but look at this other car...screw you. He goes thru the, let us make it up to you, my mgr. will get you a good deal, how can I make it up to you. I said give me $1,000 for my wasted time and effort, he looks down to the ground realizing I'm not one of the 90% of the customers who walk in and pay sticker for the gold color model. Horrific waste of time, freaking jerks! These snotty guys are definetly full of themselves. I would expect these tactics from a rinky-dink dealer but FJMB?!?! Stay away from, there are enough negative comments here to prove it. Would never buy from them and never recommend them, runied my whole car-buying experience for my 1st Mercedes. More
I bought a car from Hale. He is such a jerk, very high on himself. I will never do business with Hale or FJ. They are all very egotistical and arragant! Car muffler rattled - so they fixed it by replacing muffler and catalytic converter under warranty - when car returned had exaust leak from them not tightening bolts (still rattles) and car with grease muffler and catalytic converter under warranty - when car returned had exaust leak from them not tightening bolts (still rattles) and car with grease on door panel an steering wheel radio full blast. Next experience car delievered from service with Over Spray of some white chemical over fender and all over in engine compartment seats leaning way back radio on full blast. Wind wing missing from trunck after service - it took 6 months of me pressuring them with MBZ of N America -they left it out and didn't replace it after servicing car - "checking spare tire pressure". Tires were cupped when I bought the "2 year old Star Marked car" it made heavy road noise from the begining -they pretended to not hear it each time I brought it in 4 times over 4 months eventually they admitted the probem of the tires said since I put 4 months of driving on it they would pro rate the tires and did but charged doulbe for the tires retail value. 4 door panels because of clear coating peeling of -poor quality control on parts. Always made me feel like they are doing me a favor. Terrible problem solving. Their answers and reasons for problems come from either they thing I am stupid or they are just that stupid. there is more they scrached the bumper said they didn't do it and then told me they would touch it up for $1750.00. I still have extended warranty but feel it is cost effective to take it to my independeant mechanic who fixed several of the things they were supposed to fix because it is easier. More
Went in for the October to Remember sales event. Fill out information and specifically told the sales person NOT to run Credit check until we settle on a price. I came to this dealer to buy the new C230SS with the options I was looking for. They told me that they don't have it with all options I was looking for. Basically they had bi-xenon or navigation but not options I was looking for. They told me that they don't have it with all options I was looking for. They told me nobody else has it with both options in United States or on the way and the one they were going to sell to me was the only one with the color I wanted and navigation. I wasn't too happy, but what the heck I can always add the aftermarket bi-xenon. To make story short, with only one car available, they don't want to negotiate and gave me the MSRP. The sales person was okay, but the xxxx finance guy that make the decision on the pricing is an A**Hole. I gave him the price I wanted, he won't even lower or at least reduce the price somewhere in the middle. He also kept telling me to look at him when he was talking. I was like what the f***. We wasted about 3hrs for nothing, this was including the test drive,etc. I left and about to punch this motherf*****. I went home for a bit and decided to stop by at SouthBayMB. Guess what, they had one with all options that I was looking for, it was still on the water. I was like fine, I'd wait. Waited for one week and got the price below invoice and options I wanted. Done deal. F*** Fletcher Jones Newport, told me no car available anywhere, well I got one and driving it now. FJ MB just cares about money and not service or customer satisfaction. More
as hard as it is to believe, this high end dealership practices in the same manner as any other bottom feeder dealer. They play pressure tactics on sales, they use bait and switch practices, they dissapp practices in the same manner as any other bottom feeder dealer. They misrepresent what you are receiving on ALL additional items such as Lojack, tire warranty, extended warranty, etc. etc. This dealer, despite their beautiful building filled with beautiful Newport Beach people is no different than Bob's Autoworld in Bodunk Kentucky...get you in, get you out as fast as possible and lie lie lie to get you to sign..then its too late baby!! DONT BUY FROM FLETCHER JONES IN NEWPORT, IN MY OPINION THEY ACT IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH JESSE JAMES! More
