First, despite the online-email come-on, they would provide zero price info over the phone. You have to go to the dealership. We live in L.A. so that meant a 1.25 hour drive down and another 1.25 hour drive back. Second, over the phone I made an appointment for 1:30 with the guy who emailed me. Sounded good. As soon as we got there at exactly 1:30 we were told that that salesman would not be working with us and that we were assigned James Sullivan. (This was despite the fact that there was another salesman there, readily available, whom we'd worked with previously and liked very much, who also informed us that we would have to go to James Sullivan.) Third, Sullivan shows up with his assistant 15 minutes later. I then explain to him that we're comparing their Mercedes GLC300 to a Lexus NX200t, and I show him a couple of pages with ALL the specs on the Lexus, including the price, which was at *least* $10,000 less than the sticker price on a roughly comparable Mercedes. Furthermore, we explained that if we bought from Lexus they would pay off the overage miles on our leased Lexus that we were turning in, and we wanted to know what they could give us for that same leased car if we did the deal with Mercedes. Sullivan then passes us off to his junior "assistant" for test driving and indicates to him that we should test drive their "P2" package (yet more expensive, unknown to us). Regardless, all this time we assumed that when we got back from a quick test drive we would see James at which point he would tell us what kind of *actual* deal he could give us (as opposed to the MSRP) and what he could do with our leased Lexus. It then took OVER THREE HOURS just to test drive one car. Furthermore, they had NO cars that met our desired color and features. We were later informed that it would take 2.5-3 months to get exactly what we wanted, which we might have been willing to do if it hadn't been for the rest of our experience there. When we finally got back to the dealership, the assistant took a bunch of info from us, during which we told him CLEARLY that we would be paying cash for any car we bought. I ALSO told him that I wanted to be absolutely sure that there would be no "hard pull" on my credit because that would lower my credit score. Bottom line, he definitely understood all this (or should have). Then, finally, after over three hours we were told to wait in a waiting room for James Sullivan. After 15 minutes of waiting, I went to look for him and was told by a sales manager that he was busy with another customer. That sales manager (Cushman King), who was a straight shooter, asked if he could be of help. I explained yet again our interests. Here's what he told us on the spot: (1) We don't deal on price. The MSRP is the price. (2) We can't give you anything for the Lexus; that should have taken 10 minutes for someone to inform you of this (instead of the hour it took to get zero information about it). If we had been told this info over the phone, or even at the time we showed up at the dealership, we would not have wasted a full day of our time. Furthermore, we would have known what to expect. James still hadn't shown up, and there was no ETA for when he would. At 3-1/2 hours, we just decided to leave. With the exception of the Mr. King the sales manager, we never got a word of apology. Worse yet: The next day we get a call from yet another salesperson asking if they could "earn our business". This person seemed to know nothing about our poor experience the day before. AND NOW THE KICKER: They DID do a hard pull of my credit, which lowered my credit score!! When I called and spoke to the sales manager directly to see if they could somehow reverse it, he said it was too late. If these people had been straight with us from the beginning and had not taken almost a full day of our time, they might very well have sold us a car. As it was, the next day we happily bought the Lexus NX 200t. We could not be more angry with them. With the exception of Mr. King, they were super-unprofessional and wasted a day of our time. We will NEVER go there again. [Addendum: I got a phone call from the dealership today, 1/6/17, from someone who simply said, "I apologize"; literally, that was it. No attempt to make amends.] One more thing: Should someone at the dealership be reading this and consider that the blame should fall on James Sullivan's assistant, you would be *wrong*. The assistant was a bright young man who was simply doing what he was told and as he was "trained" (if there is any real training). More
Best Vehicle Buying Experience Ever This is our second vehicle purchased from Fletcher Jones Dealership. First was 2 years ago, which is when we met "The Gulo Brothers" -- Paul and Chris This is our second vehicle purchased from Fletcher Jones Dealership. First was 2 years ago, which is when we met "The Gulo Brothers" -- Paul and Chris. Very different personalities but complimentary to one another. A definite dynamic duo. Paul contacted me a couple weeks ago saying I could trade my vehicle in before 12/30/16 and get a new vehicle for same or lower monthly lease payment. Went in, looked at cars, found an amazing GLE43, drove it, loved it. "The Boys" jumped into action. Sent us to FS to meet with Mike, another awesome employee, who made the financial part of the deal effortless and fast. Came out, Ricardo from Product Services, was there to help clean out my vehicle. He then spent at least 30 minutes, with the patience of a saint, showing us every bell and whistle and there are scores. He was so very nice and customer service oriented. I left the lot driving the car of my dreams! Thank you Paul, Chris, Mike and Ricardo! More

So far so good. I give a four star rating initially b/c I consider the selling of a vehicle to be a small facet of the overall rating of a dealership.
