I was sold a starmark certified cls550 that had been in a front end collision. After the purchase I noticed the repair work they admit they performed but they maintain that the damage that still exists is un front end collision. After the purchase I noticed the repair work they admit they performed but they maintain that the damage that still exists is unrelated to the damage they fixed even though there is no evidence of any subsequent collision. I spoke to the GM and was told " we don't have to disclose body damage, only frame damage." Even though the starmark certification program states that any repairs done must be below 10% of msrp or be reported to the customer. If they had actuall fixed the original incident completely I could see this being ok. However my car is in no condition to pass a starmark certification and the dealer says too bad those don't mean anything anyways. "if it has a clean car fax we certify it" I was told outright that they don't inspect their cars and if they do find something as long as it's not on the car fax they will certify the car. I left my car there for 3 days to have zylon applied then when I tried to have stains removed they stated that I missed my zylon appt even though I had their loaner car for 3 days. 3 tries later and zylon is finally applied. They removed my rear floor mats and when I asked for them back they told me they don't make those any more. I then clarified that I had them when I arrived. My floor mats promptly appeared. 2-15 edit. 1.when the vehicle was purchased on ……….. it had 3M clear wrap on the rear wheel wells but not on the front bumper. 2. On March 4 2010 at my first service visit I pointed out that the headlights didn’t line up, but I was assured by your tech that they were laser aligned. I was lied to because if you had pointed out that the headlight was actually broken you would have had to explain to me how you think it happened, which you still wont do. 3. On April 4th 2010 you agreed to repaint the paint that was falling off and investigate why the light was messed up. But what you did was a quickie 4 hour paint job of the wrong color. Then sprayed a red and a black car right next to mine, which landed all over the back of my car. Had you painted it properly the first time it wouldn’t have fallen off. Had you painted it properly the second time I wouldn’t have seen all the rest of the damage inside the grill that you have yet to explain. These 2 paint jobs are admission of guilt 1 & 2. 4. In the first letter you stated that you did make repairs to the front right bumper, which is where the current damage is. This is Admission of guilt #3. Had those repairs been completed properly there would be no damage to the front of my vehicle. And since you admit to even working on that area of the car, this proves you engaged in deceptive trade practices by not mentioning that to me when you sold me a certified Starmark Mercedes. 5. Steve Caplan your GM said “We don’t have to disclose body damage we only have to disclose frame damage.” This Is both incorrect and an admission of guilt #4. 6. If you read the third party inspection I provided you it states that there is existing damage that is clearly left over from an uncompleted repair. The light has been 3rd party verified as a safety hazard so if some accident should befall me at night rest assured that you will be a plaintiff charged with negligence. “ no reason for current damage except for previous damage to bumper”. There are no external signs of an impact. There never have been since you folks did initial repairs before I bought the vehicle. 7.i have USAA full coverage car insurance with a 500$ deductable. I called them out to try and file a claim since logic dictates if you say you didn’t do it then I must have hit something and don’t know it. They were unable to find any reason for a claim, and blamed it on someone not repairing it right at some point. So if you would like to explain this to me I’m all ears. 8. you keep bringing up the time factor in this. Let me remind you that the first attempt to try and get this fixed was less than only 8 months after I bought my car. These cars have 10,000 mile service intervals. The only reason I didn’t bring it to your attention sooner was out of sheer convenience. I figured id just ask about my lights at my first service visit. I assumed I was working with a reputable dealership and you would just fix it as that was what I was led to believe when roger sold me the car. More
Worst service ever experienced for mercedes. On my c230 they broke my fog lamps and put a dent on my hood. They denied, I complained about it before i left the dealership. On my C32, forgot to tighten my f they broke my fog lamps and put a dent on my hood. They denied, I complained about it before i left the dealership. On my C32, forgot to tighten my front wheel lug nuts, found out about it when I got home I was already missing a bolt and the rest are very loose. They service my transmission and somebody forgot to put the lock pin on the shift lever so tranny would engage. I just feel that they dont care about our cars because we have no choice since they are the only dealership here in Las Vegas. More
Nicest service guy I've dealt with and I've worked with several personnel in Southern Cal including Beverly Hills, Santa Monica W.I. Simonson, Torrance, Rusnak Arcadia/Pasadena. Always accomodating - never several personnel in Southern Cal including Beverly Hills, Santa Monica W.I. Simonson, Torrance, Rusnak Arcadia/Pasadena. Always accomodating - never tried to overcharge. Now that I'm back in So. Cal., I really miss having Tom as my service advisor. More
