The 1969 Mustang fastback was beautiful and advertised as a no expense spared restoration, so what could be wrong? Let me tell you. There were minor electrical issues such as interior lighting as well as headlight and tail light. There were no front seat belts and I was told Flemmings would not reimburse me for installing them because the state of Maryland did not require them to do so if the car was sold out of state. I called the Maryland DOT and they refuted that assertion. The car had Vintage Air, but the switch needed to be replaced to make it work. Components of the windshield wiper system were missing such as the washer reservoir, lines and nozzles. The wiper motor was the original 50 year old 2 speed and the high speed did not work. This car had just come in and I was the lucky first customer to have it offered to with 17 interested parties waiting in the wings, (so I was told}, so I put a three day hold on it with a $500 deposit. You may be asking: didn't this car receive their 122 point inspection? Since the car had just come in, as I was told, it must not have been checked out and repaired or these minor issues would have been addressed. Also, you need to pay the asking price or you loose the one year warranty. I did negotiate a slightly lower price so no warranty was offered and my salesman, Rich Budman, didn't warn me. Rich also promised me a full size spare, but I never got it. Flemmings did pay for covered transport of both my trades and the car I bought from them so I gave them a second star for that reason and because I did get descent trade in values for my two cars. Bottom line, test drive the car and take it to a mechanic in spite of any dealership "puffing". More
I would rather get shot in the leg than deal with Fleming’s again. The entire process of buying a car is nothing but xxxx. Contacted "Sarge" and informed him was looking to replace my 2007 BMW M6 as I had been involved in a serious accident. Flemings Ultimate Garage had a 2008 M6 that fit the bill and "Sarge" was able to work "the deal" for me over the phone. When I arrived to look the M6 over it was as described by "Sarge" and the pictures / video he sent me were spot on. Very painless and quick process to take delivery. So where to start, out of the 1st 6 1/2 weeks after purchasing my car it was in Fleming’s garage for 4 1/2 of them. They had to fix a crack in a paint stripe, MD inspection, re-install the factory ac. So after 2 weeks for a paint strip and MD inspection I received my car back. By the way I was told they MSI cars as they come in and as they go out. After complaining about the time line Mr. Fleming offered to put in a hidden radio. Ok well he’s trying, right? As soon as I get home I notice fluid coming from the power steering. It happens except I pointed the leak to my sales man while initially looking at the vehicle and was assured it be taken care of. So was told to bring it back for a quick fix. Ok no problem. We had scheduled the A/C that I was told would be a week, 2 weeks later I call and told the car would be done that Friday. I advised the shop manager that I was planning on coming by in the morning and if there was problem to let me know. Well no call go to pick my car up and was told I had to wait 2 hrs. While I was picking my car up you could feel the the vent was cold but there was fan blowing the air out. I get home not only is it not blowing but no longer cold. I start looking at the system and notice there is also some A/C plumbing missing. I drive the car the next day and discover oil poring out of the oil pressure port on top of the block and leaking out of the oil pan. Now I know you don’t crank those bolt down tight but I was able to take them all out by hand when I resealed the pan. So no customer service, Workman ship is half xxx, communication between the sales and shop is nonexistent. No communication with the customer. Past the sale they could care less. After my experience I began to research the company and found a ton of compliments to the better business bureau. I can’t imagine a lot of repeat or referral business. Not sure how there still around I guess a lot of out of state deals and shipping cars. Stay away. Oh then Phil said bring the car back and we’ll fix it. I’m done with this place how many chances do you give someone. At this point I’m going to pay a competent trust worthy place. ************************************************ Update, I spoke with the prior owner who verified Fleming’s straight lied about the condition of the vehicle. ******Fleming’s states the engine was a fresh rebuild. Come to find out that was 20k miles ago. FRESH. ******Fleming stated a fresh rebuild on a turbo 400 transmission. Lied the car neither had a fresh rebuild nor had a turbo 400 transmission. More
I recently purchased a motorcycle from Flemings. Trey Watkins stayed late to meet me since I was running late due to traffic. The bike was nothing short of everything they described and they actually encouraged me to look at another bike I saw before I looked at theirs... who does that?? When I arrived and looked at the bike he was right... made me want it even more. I have had it for 3 weeks and already put more miles on it than the previous owner averaged in a year. I would not hesitate to purchase anything they have to offer. They were fair in price and the no pressure hospitality was very refreshing. I traveled from New Jersey twice once to look at it and once to pick it up and was well worth every minute! Even after the sale Trey was working for me even after the sale was done, he contacted the previous owner to get a remote for one of the accessories. I can't say enough about everyone I met while I was there. A very big THANK YOU to Trey and the team. -Hank T More
