Well, at this moment, and I am going to have to give a negative rating to Five Start Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM. I hope to be able to re-rate them later with a more positive rating. My wife and I came to FS on Saturday, December 12 after we saw a Toyota Tacoma posted online on the website at a certain price we thought was a very fair. We made an appointment to meet with Tela Blackwell to come in and test drive the Tacoma. We met with Tela and test drove the truck. We liked the look of it and the price of it. Tela was great. She really was very helpful. We also talked to Mr. Dwight, head of the service department about towing capasity and the fact that the sensors in the valve stims needed to be replaced. He was great also. I made an offer and Tela accepted. That is when things went into the ditch. She introduced us to her to the financial officer, Patrick Carr. Upon sitting down with Patrick, he began to talk about add-ons and warranties that he felt we should also purchase. I was very clear with Patrick and told him that I did not want any add-ons or warranties. I want you to pay $4000 down on the truck and finance the rest. This started to look at his computer and talking about how he cared about getting us the best deal possible. He eventually told us that he was going to "throw in" from warranties that would make us an even better deal. I told him that would be fine as long as it did not raise the bottom line price of the truck. He said that it would not. So we trusted him and his word. When it came time to sign the paperwork on his tablet everything looked kosher. We left. It was a few days later that we figured out that Patrick had not been honest with us. He had charged us for the warranties and add-ons in the amount of over $3000 I was livid. I called and to my shame reacted in anger to Patrick. His response was hardly better. He began to shout back at me and threatened to "hang up the xxxx phone." Obviously at this point he was in control. I made myself calm down. He said he would cancel the service warranties. But he made me promise that I would not refinance the truck at a lower interest rate (his was 5%) for six months so that he could collect his commission. He said that I was "taking food off his daughters dinnertable" if I refinance at a lower rate before six months. I felt helpless and felt I had no choice but to agree. He did e-mail the cancellation form for the service contracts. Both my wife and I see that we were manipulated and lied to by Patrick. We both agree that I was clear about the bottom- line price for the truck and that Patrick was dishonest and his actions. The words that were came out of his mouth were not reflected in the sales contract. I was naive to trust him. I am going to meet with the general manager on Monday. If Mr. Hartson rectifies the situation in a way that will help ameliorate what Patrick did, I will be happy with Five Start again. If so, I'm going to re-rate five-star with a better rating .
