I don't recommend five star auto sales to anyone nor will I ever buy another thing from them. Here's the story I purchased a dodge pickup truck from them recently and after being told 5.99% interest I t will I ever buy another thing from them. Here's the story I purchased a dodge pickup truck from them recently and after being told 5.99% interest I thought wasn't too bad only to find out they forgot to put a 1 in front of it.(my own stupidity) second they put a new sticker on it. Well my grandfather who lived in Florida had passed so I drove down there and the truck made weird noises whole way. Come to find out that new sticker they put on for me they didn't inspect the vehicle at all. Brakes were bare metal I replaced them and they told me they could not reimburst me. 156$ bill now multiple problems are occurring I took it to a sticker station and it failed with flying colors and they're not willing to fix it free of charge due to 4k miles I put on driving to and from Florida. I'm just a 19 year old kid who 'thought I was getting a good deal' I feel as if I got robbed big time. If at all possible avoid this dealer at all costs. More

I went into five star auto based on a friends referral. I had been turned down by everybody because I had delinquent medical bills that had caused my credit to take a hit. Most of the dealers would not eve I had been turned down by everybody because I had delinquent medical bills that had caused my credit to take a hit. Most of the dealers would not even talk to me or offer any help or cell my credit was run. Jared showed me a Honda Accord that I loved! It was not perfect but for the price I was amazed! I told him I had bad credit and he replied with that's OK we understand life happens let's see what we can do for you. When Jared told me I was approved to get the car I wanted to hug him! I love e my new car and will tell anybody that has fallen on hard times to go give five star a chance! More
They sold the car to us with tires that would not pass inspection and rumbled when we drove it, but did not offer to help out. We had to pay $890 to get 4 new tires. This business is doing shady things inspection and rumbled when we drove it, but did not offer to help out. We had to pay $890 to get 4 new tires. This business is doing shady things that they will pay for (legally) - karma is a b**ch. I would never recommend this dealer and if I had told my friends where we were buying the vehicle, they would have told us about their bad experience and we would have never gone there. More
they are ALL con artists. ALL the vehicles are over priced weasels. they ALL use poor tactics. when I went to 5 star, this particular gentleman stated he was the owner.. professional at first, I bought priced weasels. they ALL use poor tactics. when I went to 5 star, this particular gentleman stated he was the owner.. professional at first, I bought it. the used vehicle I wanted was 5 years old and priced at the rate of a new model. my brother n law is a mechanic with auto sales under his belt with 25 yrs exp+. I took the opportunity during my test drive to cruise over and see what he thought. after being told this vehicle was "mint", just passed for a new sticker, had one owner(sob story attached) and "didn't need a thing".. my brother n law looked it over REAL good! tires, brakes, struts, shocks, oil and tranny lines were in need of repair..because apparently this particular vehicle was emerged in salt water for an extended amt of time(addl perk to having a mechanic in the family..carfax!) it needed new wiper motors, new electrical for auto windows and smelled like an ash tray among other things(when I was told it was a one owner, non smoker). my brother n law said "for the price it's not even worth it unless everything in need of repair is fixed and they throw in another used car with it all. he said honestly the price they are asking is what a new one costs. you should definitely shop around or see if they will take half of the asking price" that was my answer. I drove the 6 miles back to 5 star and said I just didnt think it was worth the price(which I did find on line and kbb value) was superiorly high in comparison to brand new! I gave them my offer and was shot down AND laughed at! nice guys. the "owner", Kurt.. then said "try again, sweety. that rig is worth more than you think and if you're gonna trade that piece of crap in for it you'll need at least 5000$ down in addition to the earnest money"(500$). insulting someone never gets them to buy a vehicle. they also ran my credit, which i was aware was on the higher end of the scale because it was just pulled prior to my bend over and screw visit.. and i was told at 5 star it was "in the dumps" and i would need at leadt another 2000$ down in addition to the 5000$! i was also told that I "should go look around at other places for this particular vehicle and see that this price is reasonable". i told the rude man i had looked. he replied "with your eyes open"?! he told me he would be in touch if something came up, since he had sll my info for the back ground check(which he asked 25$ for, for "processing"..which he waived once I told him I was leaving). so, I told my fiancé how things went and in disbelief answered my phone when this guy called back. unimpressed my fiancé hung up. I would never go back there again!!!!!! everrrrrrrr! they just want to make a buck and at anyone's expense! poor poor dealings in Biddeford Maine. for shame! oh, and turns out Kurt ISN'T the owner. :) nice touch! They were rude and nasty. completely conning me out of my $$ and selling me a peice of crap car that had issues from the begininng. They gave me a hard time because I wanted to see a carfax. They told me I w $$ and selling me a peice of crap car that had issues from the begininng. They gave me a hard time because I wanted to see a carfax. They told me I would be able to put down $1,000 and over a span of 4 days it turned into them wanting $1800. They are not professional and act like they are better than the people coming in to get a car. honestly, when you are going to get a car from a buy here pay here, you get what you pay for. NOT HERE. they overcharge you, and you wind up spending ten times more money, because they extend lease agreements, tell you they need more money down, and then give you a nasty attitude as they bend you over and screw you. Please, save yourself the hassle, never go there. More
I inquired online about a Carfax report, as I told him in my email that I won't even look at a car without it. Pete calls me..."Hello is this "Jane"...Yes it is.."This is Pete from Five Star Auto, you inquir my email that I won't even look at a car without it. Pete calls me..."Hello is this "Jane"...Yes it is.."This is Pete from Five Star Auto, you inquired online about the "car"....Yes I did, a few times..."It's a great car"..."Can you fill out an application?"....I said, No, I already have a job..."No No for the car"...I said Why would I do that? I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee here this past October and I have had every possible electrical problem go wrong with the vehicle since then. They sold me the vehicle with the worst tires around, that didn't I have had every possible electrical problem go wrong with the vehicle since then. They sold me the vehicle with the worst tires around, that didn't pass inspection, even though they slapped a new sticker on it. When I contacted them about possibly throwing newer tires on a few weeks after I bought it, they swore up and down that the tires would pass, even though the weather checks were showing and one of them had been blown and repaired. After that the starter went, then the electrical system, 2 fuses, the heater, and then just recently the radio; all of which they will not help out with. This is a very greedy business who's only professionalism is being shady. I would never go back there again, and I don't recommend anyone else does either. More
They worked very hard to get me approved for a loan and didnt treat me bad because of my not so great credit score. They gave me a great used car with low miles when other dealerships that helped people w didnt treat me bad because of my not so great credit score. They gave me a great used car with low miles when other dealerships that helped people with poor credit stick you with a high mileage car with a high price. they were very friendly and great with my son. Court Orders Biddeford Auto Dealer to Sell Vehicles at the Advertised Price January 18, 2008 NEWS RELEASE http://maine.gov/tools/whatsnew/index.php?topic=AGOffice_Press&id=48984&v=article Today, Attorney General Steve Rowe announced that Five Star Auto Sales, a used car dealership in Biddeford, Maine, has entered into a Superior Court Consent Decree which resolves the state's Unfair Trade Practice Act Complaint. The State's complaint charged that Five Star Auto Sales used improper sale tactics to unfairly increase the advertised price of its vehicles. “The issue here is simple. If you advertise the price of a product, then you need to sell the product for that price.” Rowe commented. Pursuant to the Consent Decree, Five Star Auto Sales is prohibited from increasing the advertised price of a motor vehicle by charging a document preparation fee or using unfair or deceptive tactics to sell an extended service contract. Five Star Auto Sales is also prohibited from advertising a vehicle at a specific price and then, without the consumer's informed agreement, increasing that advertised price, unless the increase is made in accordance with the Attorney General's Advertising Rules. Rowe continued, “The State's Advertising Rules have the simple goal of allowing consumers to purchase a car for the advertised price. Bait & switch methods of advertising violate the Unfair Trade Practices Act. My office will continue to take action against companies that employ deceptive pricing methods.” The Consent Decree states that Five Star Auto Sales did not admit to any wrongdoing. Pursuant to the Court's Order, Five Star Auto Sales must provide restitution to its customers totaling $4723 and must also pay a civil penalty totaling $5000. Show less More
