Horrible Experience My husband came in to the purchase a Handyman vehicle last week. He decided to take the car as is and fix the repairs on his own. He was told because the car was purchased as is that temp tags would not be made available as, your company isn't obligated to provide them. However, my husband is about to lose his job because he doesn't have transportation to work. It is not as if we were in the market for a new car, he was hit by another car on Thursday September 21st resulting in his car being totaled. Although his previous car was in great working condition the insurance company only offered $2445 for him to purchase another car. He lucked up and was able to find the same make and model of his previous car at your dealership. He purchased a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis from your Handyman program (VIN: 2MEFM74W53X600989). Like I mentioned before, we were not currently in the market for a new car so it is not like we have extra money laying around. The repairs for you service center on the car totaled $1300.00 which we did not have. He purchased the car as is and we were able to get repairs done by our family mechanic at a lower price. The car is now fully insured, passed MD state inspection, and is ready to drive. However, the whole title transfer is a situation that takes 4-6 weeks. The insurance company from the accident provided him with a rental car for a week but he had to turn it in on Wednesday September 27th. He has already had to call out of work from 9/27 to 10/5. His manager let him know that if he calls out anymore that he will be let go. Without his income we will be unable to pay rent and which will result in the both of us and our 3 year old son being evicted. We are supposed to be getting married on 11-2-17 so we will be entering a marriage that we can no longer afford homeless. I think that is horrible that all this is soon to come all because your dealership would not offer simple temporary registration so that he is able to drive his vehicle while we are awaiting the tags. This is our first experience purchasing a vehicle from a dealership and it has turned out to be an absolute nightmare. We will soon be living the car we purchased. More
