I wasn't able to do paperwork for my car durning normal business hours and the dealership arranged for me to come in an hour and half after they had closed and then delivered my new Silverado to my house the next day. I have now spent over 2 weeks attempting to get some compromise for the possible damage that has been done to my engine. The offer I received? 30,000 miles of free oil changes. Because, when you make such a careless and negligent mistake I would completely trust you to even come within a close proximity to my car. Oh yes, the oil type is right on the cap or in the owners manual! For such a simple, yet I important, task to be so royally screwed up and having to battle to get some compromise for extra wear and tear on my BRAND NEW car/engine I strongly suggest you find another place to deal with. This is just one of the horrific stories you will hear about the service from this dealership. More

They sold me a car with a bad transmission and they wont fix it. They are friendly as xxxx but thats because in the end they are ripping you off! If I wanted a car that would need work done like that within the first 6 monthes I would of bought one of of craigslist or some cheap buy here pay here. This is a terrible place and I will never recommend anyone to go here. Oh and I brought a friend before this to check out their cats and we had some guy in a ravens jacket help us. VERY DISSATISFIED We bought a 2008 Chevy Tahoe with this dealership. During the test drive, the tire pressure light was on. We were told that would be fixed prior to leaving the dealership. Within less than a week, tire pressure light was back on (meaning they didn't check to see what the issue was, but put air in it just so the light would go off.) Also within ONE week, the vehicle wouldn't start. We figured it was the battery, no big deal - because we were guaranteed 3 month, 3,000 mile warranty. My husband called to make an appointment and the service guy said yes, we will replace it. My husband then takes the vehicle over and they say they will NOT replace the battery as that is not covered under warranty. In fact, they were going to charge $50.00 just to test to see if the issue was even the battery. Mind you, 99% of places test the battery for free and the place where we bought our $30,000 vehicle less than a week ago wouldn't replace or test the battery without charge. I emailed the dealership with a credit application on a new Chevrolet Spark. Within a day, I received a phone call advising me that particular vehicle had been sold, but that there was a very close match new Chevrolet Spark. I was told the price up front and asked if that would be an acceptable vehicle. I agreed, and within an hour I was called back and had an unconditioned approval. I stopped in later that afternoon and was met by my salesman, Darryl. My wife and I test drove the vehicle, loved it, and decided to buy it then and there. The dealership already had the paperwork ready, and we were able to immediately go to the finance office. The finance manager was very professional and friendly, and we did not feel at all pressured. The whole finance transaction was seamless and quick. Afterward, were were introduced to the service advisor, and then walked out to the vehicle by Darryl who then took about 20 minutes to make sure we knew all the features and controls, and who also fully explained the OnStar system to us. Overall we might have spent two hours at the dealership, which was not bad at all. I was very impressed by the professionalism and courtesy shown us by both Darryl and the finance manager, and left a happy customer. I have already referred several people to Hoffman's and will continue to do so. A+ Dealership in my book. More
I brought my car to Hoffman Automotive for Maryland State Inspection, and it failed. They gave me a list of the three reasons why it failed, and later called me with the price of $1100.00 to complete the rep Inspection, and it failed. I had the vehicle repaired elsewhere for $674.00 and returned for re-inspection. They told me the car failed again due to an item that they had neglected to list on the report that they gave me after the first inspection. All Marty Coy could do was keep repeating, "I apologize." That is inexcusable. It took six hours to do these two "inspections". I will never return to Hoffman Automotive, and I recommend that anyone who needs responsible service for their vehicle avoid Hoffman Automotive at all costs. More
I had service to my car here and they said they repaired a faulty ignition switch and a fuel gauge that was malfunctioning. That cost $1,000. I took it back to have a Maryland inspection done and they came back stating that it would take over $2,000 in repairs to get it to pass inspection. I stated that the car passed Virginia inspection two weeks ago and didn't believe what they were telling me. They listed 15 things from wipers streaking to muffler bearings that was supposedly wrong with my car. I said don't do anything, I'll pay for the inspection and pickup the car tomorrow. They tried to get something out of me and told me they could do less but I realized they were full of it at this point. I picked up the car the next day and had the inspection done in another shop and all that I had to have done was a headlight reaiming for around $90. Also, I found out that the fuel gauge that they supposedly repaired for over $600 still does not work. I HAD A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE AT HOFFMAN CHEVROLET. More
