Hi Mike, Hope you and the family had a nice holiday. First and foremost just as we spoke outside I sincerely apologize to yourself and your father regarding James' reaction and comment. It is outside of his character and the culture of the sales staff we employ here at First Chrysler. We used this feedback for training purposes and we discussed it with the whole team. Buying a vehicle can be very stressful and bring on a lot of anxiousness regardless of how we approach each different consumer's needs and we train weekly on how to manage through these retail challenges in todays climate. We strive to provide great customer service and provide transparency in a very competitive business and being accused of "playing games" triggered James to react in an unprofessional manner and that is not acceptable. The management team takes full responsibility for putting James in that position to began with. We matched a discount (our car was slightly more equipped) over email per your request from the dealer you shopped in Natick Ma on the last day of Jeep's November programs. The weather was poor and we couldn't get together. The programs changed for December as we were under the impression you knew and we lost one of 3 different "conquest" rebates Jeep was offering. We should have had Paul deal with you and your father directly but he had stepped out and we had been working with you for so long that we thought it should be fairly simple and straightforward but obviously we made a mistake and should not have James work with you and I apologize for that. There was no polite decline. As your father stated, his expectations were that we were playing some sort of game with rebates when in reality we were just stuck in the middle of semantics with what conquest rebate was what because there was no longer a rebate that involved you having specifically a Nissan Xterra on the list of "qualifying competitive suvs". It is our hope that someday, the manufactures will regulate how dealers can advertise and stop with the constantly changing incentive programs that force us to "survey" our clients to find out what rebates you qualify for and just allow us to focus on taking care of our customers and making car buying a pleasurable experience for everyone involved. New cars are already very expensive and it is a big enough purchase as it is never mind navigating confusing incentives that they try and not reimburse us for. Regardless of the circumstances again that behavior will never happen again and we apologize on behalf of your local CDJR dealer. Best Regards, Blake Gardner General Sales Manager

I hope you and your family also had a nice holiday. I certainly hope it was outside of his character and the culture of the sales staff, but with how quickly he stated it, it certainly gives me doubt. I completely understood how the rebates changed from the end of November to December (on the 2nd of December to be exact). During the month of November, the rebate specifically called out the Nissan Xterra as a competitive SUV, so that's how it was communicated with Paul and Bryan in the past. The reason why we suspected that there were pricing games going on was because when we stopped in, it was 3 weeks after the rebates had changed over during the month of December, meaning there was ample time for the sales staff to be aware of and knowledgeable on the current rebates, including the Chrysler Conquest rebates. I understand James wasn't the original sales person that I worked with and wasn't in the best position to know what had already been worked out, however, the way he responded was completely inappropriate and reprehensible. Also, as for you claiming that I lied about politely declining in your statement that "there was no polite decline," you're blatantly wrong. I told James, and I quote, "Thank you for your time and for finding this vehicle at that dealership, but I'm going to have to pass because of this pricing" as I proceeded to get up. It was as I started to walk away that James then yelled over to us, and I quote again, "don't let the door hit you in the a** on the way out." When I walked into your dealership, I was absolutely ready to purchase the vehicle. Period. Quite honestly, the price that you offered at the end was actually a bit less than what I was hoping to reach, but after having been disrespected by James, there was no way I was going to give this dealership my business. While I will never be stepping foot in any "First" dealership again, I certainly hope that this doesn't happen to any of your other potential customers because they certainly can and will do better at many other dealerships, including the Jeep dealership I visited in Natick, MA.

I agree Mike you were a gentleman. It was your father. James was wrong (he didn't say a** but nonetheless) I'm sorry you feel that way but I understand. Have a happy new year and I hope your behind the wheel of a new car for the new year.

Jennifer purchased a 2018 Jeep Certified Pre-Owned Compass from us on May 13th 2019 with 4,100 miles. In order to be certified it has to go through a checklist provided by the manufacturer as well as having passed their requirements on a vehicle history report which is Carfax. Details on that can be found on the Jeep CPO website. The vehicle was inspected by a local third party MA inspection station as at the time we did not have our own. Before this event we had not seen the vehicle since June 29 when we performed a documented warranty repair. The vehicle was last serviced on 9/27 w. 10,997 miles on it at Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Plymouth according to Carfax. We received a call from the customer on or around 10/25 stating that the vehicle was at Quirk in Marshfield and had pre-mature inside tire wear and missing bolts from what was stated as the engine cradle. A few days later we were able to connect with the service manager at Quirk and we had the vehicle towed here. The vehicle had 11,975 miles on it. We noticed the wheels on the vehicle had been painted black and we assume the tires would have had to come off the wheels by whoever painted them which at this point we still don't know who or when that was done. We did not ask questions we just repaired the vehicle and mounted two brand new tires on the vehicle as Jennifer used one of our 2019 Jeeps from our loaner fleet. We were puzzled just as well as the car did not leave here back in May in that condition. We reached out to Jennifer and told her if she wanted to come down with whomever she wished we would put the car on the lift and go over everything. Jennifer then refused to return our loaner vehicle even though the agreement term had expired. We offered her 100% of what she paid for the vehicle back in May as a trade allowance towards the internet price of another Certified Pre-Owned Compass as a good-will offering so she would feel safe in a different vehicle. There is a payoff on the vehicle which effects the terms of the proposal she mentioned nothing to do with profit or loss. After it became apparent we would not be able to come to an amicable resolution to her grievance we again requested our loaner vehicle back which proved to be difficult. We delivered the repaired vehicle to Jennifer at a location of her request and picked up our loaner vehicle after service hours. There is no such thing as a "fake Carfax" unless you are accusing us of arts and crafts. Common sense would make it apparent that we would not have anything to gain by putting an unsafe vehicle (under factory warranty) on the road. You have your right to share your feedback about any business and it should be done in a responsible and intelligent manner. Keep in mind there are families that make their living here by servicing hundreds of customers per month in sales, parts and service and we do so by having strict business practices in a business that has many moving parts. We all put our families in the vehicles we drive everyday and we take that very seriously.

We spray painted my rims - leaving the tires on. Any decent mechanic would be able to tell that we did this. The paint is splattered on the back and you can peel it off. Also - they never offered me a fair trade. I was losing money in the deal and they offered me vehicles with much higher payments. Like I said if I could afford a higher payment I would have bought that vehicle to begin with, right? I never refused to return the loaner. I asked to return it 2 days after they had asked me due to work. And they denied me and said they would report it stolen. They also sent me threatening emails saying that I was not welcome to come down with whomever and would not be available to answer any questions. I agreed to have them come get the vehicle because they were threatening to report it stolen. They also showed me an incorrect car fax. I’m assuming it was for a different vehicle because it was clean. Mine was 5 pages - would any person buy a vehicle with a 5 page Carfax? I think my statement stands as to why they would show me a different one. I should have checked the VIN. They sold me a vehicle that had damage from a previous accident. This is why my car was priced SO low and they could not match it to give me the same payment. They did not care that I could be dead due to a vehicle they sold. If you look at other reviews - they also have left tire lugs lose, etc.
